Treasures of Time puzzle 5.png

Treasures of Time is a slide-puzzle based minigame; complete of a certain number of puzzles to obtain the event badge! Players obtain one game attempt per day at daily reset time (04:00 UTC+9); this can build up to three banked clear chances at a time, allowing the player to obtain all rewards as long as no more than two days in a row are missed.

Unfortunately, as the slide puzzle is randomized, the wiki cannot provide specific puzzle clear guides to assist; sorry! However, there are two icons on the top right above the puzzle: the recycle icon resets the puzzle while the closed/open eye toggles for the final image. Players may infinitely reset and reshuffle the puzzle for easier start.

General tips for solving slide puzzles:

  1. Focus on a single line first
    1. Get one corner into its proper place.
    2. Locate the two remaining pieces of the line and line them up so that you can slide them into place as below (pic 1)
  2. Focus on a shorter side next
    1. Do not touch the side you just finished in the step above.
    2. Locate the two remaining pieces of one of the sides and line them up the same as in the previous step (pic 2)
  3. Shuffle the remaining three pieces into place
    1. Do not touch the five pieces that are already in place from the steps above.
    2. The remaining pieces should fall into place through simple rotation.

Cumulative rewards are available for completing a total number of puzzles as follows:

Intro: NXX Headquarters Garden

On a leisurely rest day afternoon, the NXX members are enjoying some nice afternoon tea in the garden at NXX Headquarters.

The delightful aroma of tea and desserts is perfect for alleviating the weariness of work. It's also a great conversation starter.

You: I saw a "Memorabilia Sharing Session" event poster the last time I went to Stellis Library. It was pretty interesting.

Luke: What kind of event is that? Do we bring an old item we have at home and tell others about it?

You: Yeah... Something like that. The theme of the event is "old items that heal one's heart."

You: Each participant will bring a small-value but memorable old item, share its story, and freely exchange it with other participants.

Vyn: Taking an item that has once brought you comfort and giving it away, along with its story, can be considered an act of kindness.

You: Exactly. I think it is a very heart-warming event.

Luke: Not only can you listen to others' stories, it also feels a bit like a flea market. That's pretty interesting indeed.

You: Right, the organizer has even prepared a tea break area with free desserts, fried chicken, and milk tea for all participants.

Artem: Sounds like... you're interested?

You: Kind of. But it's on a working day. I guess none of us would be free to attend.

Marius: Hmm... Why don't I host a similar event at one of Pax's libraries a few days later?

You: Wouldn't that be too much trouble for you...? Oh! I have a better idea.

You: Why don't we hold a sharing session at NXX Headquarters? The participants will just be the five of us. How about that?

Luke: I agree! I've already decided on what I want to share.

The others nod their heads in agreement.

You: Great! I have several items I want to share... I'm having difficulty choosing just one.

Vyn: Well, what would you like to drink on that day? I can prepare it for you.

You: Ooh, I'll have to think about that!

Artem: Rather than food, I'm much more interested in listening to what you want to share.

Marius: Same here, but I need to think about what I want to share.

Luke: Yeah... It's good to take some time to think about what you want to prepare.

You: However, don't forever that the old items you are sharing must be something that's "small-value but memorable!"

You: I hereby announce that the NXX's Memorabilia Sharing Session shall begin soon!

You reiterate the rules and set the small sharing session on the next rest day in the garden at NXX Headquarters.

After solving first puzzle: NXX HQ Garden

On that day, everyone brings their old items to the garden at NXX Headquarters.

Everyone seems to be in tacit agreement to beautifully package their old items in gift boxes.

You: I guess it's because everyone cherishes their items...

Luke: Yeah, that's why I decided to add a sense of solemnity by wrapping it up.

Dr. Richter has prepared a table of tea and desserts, and everything is ready to go.

At some point, Tabby slips into the garden and lies on your gift box while basking in the sun.

Luke is the first to share his item. It is a mystery novel with a fairly attractive cover page.

Luke: I bought this novel two years ago at "Libra Bookstore."

Luke: I chanced upon it during a case, as the client required me to wait for my target in the bookstore.

Luke: I pretended to be a customer by flipping through a book. But the story was so interesting that I got hooked by the first chapter.

Luke: By the time I realized it, I had already missed my target. I had no choice but to rush to the next destination based on the clues.

Luke: I regretted it then, yet I missed the relaxing feeling I had from delaying work because I found some interesting entertainment.

Luke: After all, the nature of my work requires me to be alert at all time.

Luke: Come to think of it, the feeling of occasionally "slacking off" can be a nice way to unwind.

Luke: So, after the case, I returned to the bookstore and purchased this novel.

After Luke shares his story, the rest of the members are lost in thought for a while.

Next, Artem takes out an exquisite set of tableware from his gift box.

Artem: I bought this set of tableware from a noodle bar in an alley near my apartment.

Artem: I was swamped with work back then and often worked overtime. One night, I stopped by that noodle bar and sat down in a corner.

Artem: I was the only customer at that time. The chef and owner of the plce seemed lonely, so he began to share his story with me.

Artem: I can no longer recall the details of his story, but I still vividly remember the way he skillfully prepared the noodles...

Artem: And his attentiveness toward every bowl of noodles, treating it like a treasured piece of art.

Artem: Watching him chatting happily while putting the garnishes on that hot bowl of noodles gradually alleviated my weariness from work.

Artem: To be honest, the soup wasn't particularly outstanding, but I believe it was the cooking procedure that made me feel relaxed.

Artem: This beautiful set of tableware was like a display case chosen by the owner for his masterpiece.

Artem: Whenever I feel tired, I'll prepare a nice bowl of noodles for myself. It certainly gives me a sense of satisfaction in life.

Vyn: What a coincidence. I am also sharing a story about relaxation.

Vyn's item is a wooden musical box, with a small "castle" sitting on top of the round base.

Vyn: This was from an exhausted insomniac who had tried various treatment methods such as medication, deep breathing, and meditation.

Vyn: Eventually, my hypnosis worked for him. After several treatments, his sleep quality improved.

Vyn: As a token of appreciation, he gave me the beautiful musical box that was unfortunately of no help to him.

Vyn: His insomnia "companion" then became my bedside ornament. Of course, I never believed that it would have much effect.

Vyn: However, there came a night when I simply could not sleep.

Vyn: I thought of giving the musical box a try, so I opened it.

Vyn: To my surprise, what I thought to be some simple and ineffective music turned out to be perfect for getting me to fall asleep.

Vyn: Perhaps the music box represents the patient's gratitude, or perhaps it is a good tool that only works for some people.

Vyn: Regardless, the important thing is that it taught me not to make generalizations about any method of treatment.

Vyn: Sometimes, a seemingly insignificant object can turn out to be a remedy for my inner peace.

Marius: Hmm... inner peace...

Marius looks rather thoughtful. He removes a well-crafted stamp album from his gift box.

There are 12 stamps in total, each for an animal from the Chinese zodiac.

But on a close look, you notice that one of them isn't a stamp, but a smiling monkey face drawn on a small slip of paper.

Marius: This is a stamp album designed by a late artist, which was issued when I was a kid. It has detailed depictions of zodiac signs.

Marius: But every time I flipped to this page, I felt a subtle hint of regret because the collection was lacking a monkey stamp.

Marius: I used to be unable to accept its imperfection. So I searched high and low for a seller, even willing to buy it at a high price.

Marius: Unfortunately, I was never able to find a seller due to the limited number that was released, and how old it is.

Marius: Then, one day, I had an idea. I decided to sketch a smiling monkey face in place of that monkey stamp.

Marius: The drawing is really basic, but at least the collection is "complete." At that moment, I felt both amused and relieved.

Marius: This little monkey seems to tell me that life isn't always going to be how you want it to be.

Marius: Learning to accommodate and accept the little regrets in life will make me feel better.

Finally, it is your turn. You rouse the slumbering Tabby lying on your box. he stretches lazily and watches you open up the box.

After removing the item, you place the box back onto the floor. Tabby seems excited and quickly leaps into the empty box.

However, the box is too small for the plump cat. The resulting scene is quite comical.

You: Looks like Tabby is the first to get the gift he wants today...
