Artem's injuries begin to heal, and the Main Character receives word that Brigid Gries, Felicia Luo's daughter, has seen her condition improve suddenly. She has been moved from the ICU to the general ward and is expected to be released soon. The MC visits Brigid and is surprised to run into Jerome Adams, who says he visits occasionally to ensure Brigid is being taken care of. The MC strongly suspects Jerome of being the Oedipus that guided Skye Harper's actions and tests him by showing him Brad Gries' research notes from Gladiolus Valley Research Center. Jerome claims to have written the report himself when he was a new researcher, dismissing it as embarrassing and pointing out that it's been used as scratch paper.

Outside the hospital, Artem meets with the MC and reveals that Brad's autopsy results have come back, showing that Brad died from organ failure caused by a high dose of NXX. Meanwhile, in his home, Luke throws away the drug given to him by Oedipus, which was tested and proven to have a different formulation than the black market "miracle drug."

Pharmaceutical Research Materials (update)

Evidence Description (Spoilers)

Internal information belonging to the Gladiolus Valley Research Center.

A Gladiolus logo sits next to the title on a page inside the book, symbolizing the Gladiolus Valley Research Center.
Among the data recorded is information related to drug research. Only pharmaceutical professionals can understand it.

Theory 1: Jerome Adams is the author of this document. The content is outdated and riddled with mistakes. The other side was used as a draft with all kinds of messy notes written on it.

Brad Gries' Autopsy Report

Edwin Burke and Jade Burke's Autopsy Report icon.png

Evidence Description (Spoilers)

The autopsy report issued by Judicial Forensic Institute. It confirms that Brad Gries' death was related to an overdose of NXX.

Victim: Brad Gries
Age: 37
Cause of Death: Heart failure caused by an excessive intake of NXX.
Other Information: Prior to this, Brad Gries' health already exhibited abnormalities, such as internal bleeding and organ failure. It's very likely that gradual pathological changes occured after long-term intake of small amounts of NXX.

Cup Fragment Examination Results

Evidence Description (Spoilers)

Examination results issued by the Judicial Forensic Institute. They confirm the presence of NXX residue on the cup fragments.

Examination Object: Porcelain cup fragment
Examination Result: The red solidified substance at the bottom of the cup is candle wax from burnt candles, which matches the candle wax found on the workbench. There is NXX and mineral residue on the interior wall of the cup. It appears that the cup once contained drinking water.
Comparison Results: Differs greatly from the drug found on the black market. The NXX residue in the cup is of a higher concentration and is more deadly.

Clue(s)

Deadly Drinking Water

The broken porcelain cup once contained drinking water with a high concentration of NXX. Drinking it will lead to organ failure and possible death.
