During the Main Character's and Vyn's investigation into the death of Estelle Marino, they learn that Janus stayed the night at the Manning Palace Hotel. He occupied room 1817, the hotel room adjacent to Estelle's room, and possessed both the keys for the connecting doors to rooms 1816 and 1818.[1]
When Jen Mendoza, Estelle's assistant, stored Marius von Hagen's gifted liquor chocolates in Estelle's room, Jen encountered Janus with a bottle of Romanée-Conti.
