Summary

The main character questions Jen Mendoza once more with Vyn, who opens the questioning by accusing her of a conspiratorial role in the murder despite his firm belief that she has nothing to do with it. His trick causes Jen to reveal that she had immediately confiscated the wine when she saw Janus with it because she is aware that he takes medication that isn't compatible with alcohol. She then left Marius' chocolates with Janus and disposed of the wine on a housekeeping cart. Jen confirms that Janus and Estelle Marino were romantically involved--specifically, married for two years--and that Estelle had been pushing Janus, who had been recently diagnosed with depression at a Heirson clinic, to make the relationship public. As the three discuss Jen's fond recollections of Janus and Estelle, a groupie disrupts the scene in search of any information or belongings involving Janus.

Evidence Description (Spoilers)

Jen's second testimony regarding the whereabouts of the wine, the relationship between Janus and Estelle, their conflicts, and the fact that Jen is a fan of Janus.

1. Jen ran into Janus in Room 1818 when she went to put the chocolates into the room's refrigerator. She later threw the bottle of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti in the hotel's bin bag.

2. Jen is a fan of Janus' and would love to see Janus happy.

3. Janus and Estelle were married, but their marriage was kept a secret due to Janus being a celebrity.

4. For the past 6 months, Janus showed signs of mental instability because Estelle had been forcing him to reveal their marital status.

5. Estelle even went as far as hiring the paparazzi to take photos of them together, which escalated the tension between the couple, adding to Janus' pressure. This may have led to his eventual decision to murder Estelle.
