Outside the police station,
Vyn is swarmed by reporters; he responds aggressively toward both them and the
Main Character, accusing her of following him around and taking photos before throwing her phone into the bushes. As the crowd surrounds her, the MC realizes he did this to make her seem like one of the group and keep all the focus on him alone.
At Themis Law Firm, Angela Diggs' father aggressively asks Artem to help him sue Vyn. Artem dismisses the man due in part to his ill treatment of Angela, stating that he would rather represent any plaintiff who wishes to sue him instead.
Vyn meets back up with the MC, ensuring that her phone is undamaged before revealing some details about Angela: she shoplifts, possibly at her father's direction, and one of the items she stole was the pesticide Letha Graye consumed. He also says that he wants to go check the address that Mavis Sutcliffe wrote on her patient form when she saw him.
Luke arrives at Vyn's home, introduces himself to
Jill Meadows as an NSB agent, and offers to take her to a safe place to stay. When she declines, Vyn returns and abruptly asks Luke to leave.
