In a flashback to three years ago,
Lowe Lear vehemently argues with
Tyson Turner, decrying his NXX research as illegal and immoral. Tyson reveals that he caused
Laura Lear to develop her cancer, then blames Lowe for Laura's condition, securing his grudging agreement to develop Tyson's immortality drug in an effort to save his sister.
At an airport in Stellis, Artem speaks on the phone to Vyn and the Main Character, discussing a plan to bring Laura to The Pluto aboard the von Hagen family helicopter.
Aboard the Pluto, Lowe happens across Vyn and the MC in a lounge. Vyn requests Lowe's help with a magic trick, but Lowe quickly sees through the trick, which spurs a discussion about how a magician leads an audience through traps, as Lowe had done with
Rio. As Lowe tries to leave, Vyn offers Lowe a choice to either play a question game with him or show him what's in Lowe's pocket; Lowe accepts the question game.
