General[edit | edit source]

Lowe Lear is a researcher employed by Heirson Health Products. As an "unregistered" citizen of Stellis, he is not registered in Stellis' household registration database and thus has no rights in terms of social insurance, education, or employment.[1]

Lowe, known as "Lowie" as a child, was taken in by Laura Lear. He describes her as someone who saved him from hell, and who gave him a name and a home. The siblings lived in North Stellis in a shabby home, but despite this, he describes his life with her as the happiest time of his life. Even into adulthood, the instant noodles from his childhood remain his favorite food. As a child, he was known to be kind, gentle, and smart.[2][3]

To help Lowe register as permanent local resident, Laura sought help from Tyson Turner. It was Tyson who offered Lowe a job in Heirson Medical Center, which Lowe accepted in 2026, allowing the siblings to move out of North Stellis.[4] Lowe was a researcher in Heirson's Opaline River Laboratory while it was operational; after it closed, he was moved back to Heirson Medical Center, where he is currently responsible for VIP clients' medical examinations and data.[5]

Lowe is described as a prodigy and an intelligent individual, but he has grown considerably gloomier and colder since his childhood. He has a skinny frame, and despite having a "considerably handsome face", his face has a "sickly pallor, giving him a gloom and cold aura".[6][3]

He currently resides in his childhood home, which is a bungalow in North Stellis.[7] He sometimes goes by the nickname "Lowly."[8]

Story[edit | edit source]

Lowe came to the attention of the NXX Investigation Team when both his role as a researcher as well as his role in Heirson's purchase of illegal substances came to light at the same time.[9]

Lowe initially worked at Heirson Medical Center believing that Tyson Turner was a kind guardian who could help him with his household registration. However, Lowe found out about the illegal human experimentation conducted by Heirson Medical Center on its VIP clients and confronted Tyson, threatening to take his evidence to the police. Tyson, forseeing this outcome, had given Laura NXX-contaminated supplements that caused her to develop stage 3 lung cancer, essentially forcing Lowe to develop Tyson's immortality drug at Opaline River Laboratory in order to save Laura.[10][4].

Lowe boarded The Pluto to purchase raw NXX materials from Zallie. The raw materials were meant for the development of the immortality drug. However, Zallie refused to deal with a lowborn like Lowe, demanding Tyson's presence instead.[2] As a result, Lowe devised a plan to kill Zallie: he switched Zallie's medication with anti-coagulants, then induced Zallie's student, Rio, into a physical confrontation that would cause Zallie's death due to internal bleeding. As he confessed his involvement in Zallie's death, he was unaware that Laura was listening; Laura begged him to turn himself in, but Lowe refused as long as he could save her.

Laura responded to Lowe's stance by committing suicide to "set him free." Afterward, Lowe turned himself in and testified against Tyson and Heirson in order to seek justice for his sister.[4][11]
