Sheldon Harrison is one of the directors of the Pax Group and old partner of Austin von Hagen. He's very close to the von Hagen family, looking after Marius and Giann as children. Sheldon is reputed to be a stubborn and blunt man, but Marius is very much at ease around him, and Sheldon's actions and encouraging words tend to be very supportive of Marius.[1]
Sheldon wears a silver pinky ring in memory of his deceased wife and as a symbol that he remains single by choice; having no children, he has devoted himself to his career since his wife's passing.[2] Because Sheldon's wife took her own life after a long battle with depression due to the difficulty of adjusting to the judgmental nature of high society, Sheldon has strong feelings about the inappropriateness of people from vastly different backgrounds marrying. He disapproves of Marius' affection for a commoner, insisting it would end badly.[3]
