Summary

Darius Morgan briefs the main character and Artem about Gene Greene's status as a criminal from another state. They also discuss the organization structure of Denman Financial and its use of blackmailed fugitives such as Gene as "thralls" who are given no choice but to work for the company.

During the questioning of Gene Greene, it's confirmed that Jerry Jones was present at Night Hunt on the night of Naomi Anderson's murder. It's also discovered that an odd scent found on Jerry the previous day came from the drug that was found in Naomi's system.
