General

Lane Chapman is a migrant worker from a remote village south of Stellis City. He was away from his home for over 20 years--long enough that most villagers no longer recognize him--but he recently returned to the village after making a costly mistake at a job in Stellis, in which he deleted CCTV footage at Marius von Hagen's private art gallery.

Lane's home on the west side of his village is quite old, with beams on the gate covered in cobwebs. His fellow villagers describe him as grumpy and reclusive.[1] Further conversations with the man reveal him to be greedy and money-focused as well, with details difficult for him to recall unless they involve the handover of money.[2]

Story

Lane later revealed quite a bit of information about his employers when offered double what he was paid for the original job, admitting that the incident that caused Lane to leave Stellis was intentional and quite profitable. The details he recalled initially implicated Pax Director Sheldon Harrison, but inconsistencies in the details made it clear this was a frame job, and the true culprit was discovered through his accurate recollection of details identifying Jared Qin.
