Jared Qin is an assistant working under Sheldon Harrison at the Pax Group. He's noted to be very talented, completing many large projects in Pax since he joined a few years prior.[2] He's noted to have come from a poor family, but due to an anonymous charity subsidy he received, he was able to go to the US as an exchange student and then to the UK to study.[3] He is a very social person, but his close associates say he has been using excuses to skip regular gatherings in recent months.[4]

The charity subsidy Jared received early in life indebted him to Pax director Don Edison, who used Jared as a tool in several schemes aiming to supplant Marius von Hagen as CEO. When evidence of these schemes were found, Marius said he would wait for Jared to make a choice: he could resign willingly, in which case Marius would keep his silence about all Jared had done, or Marius would publicly expose his work against Pax.[5] Despite Jared's actions, all he did was purely at the behest of Don Edison; Jared expressed confusion and disagreement with Don's stance against Marius and wished to cut ties with the director after Marius' resignation.[6]
