Artem "Loving Memories"/Rewards

Story Summary

This story takes place in Year 1. Artem is not yet in a relationship with the MC.

Celestine takes the staff of Themis Law Firm to a theme park to celebrate the firm's anniversary. Artem attempts to go back to work, but Celestine and the Main Character work together to make him stay. Artem offers to accompany the MC through a haunted house she expresses interest in.

Artem's logical thinking prevents him from experiencing the haunted house as intended, disappointing the MC. She pretends to be scared in hopes it will be more fun for Artem if one of them is affected, but he catches on and questions her act, reassuring her that he's enjoying himself without the extra effort when she admits she's playing it up for him.

Continuing through the haunted house, the pair approaches the experience more honestly, onjectively appreciating the effort that went into the creepy scenery and all the interesting effects achieved.

The flashlights provided by the haunted house go out in a key room holding "the vampire's secret"; Artem speculates this is under staff control. Immediately after, the attraction suffers a real power outage, putting the pair in near total darkness. A section of the floor collapses as they move through the house, and they land in the "vampire's coffin" in an underground chamber. After freeing themselves, they stumble into a room near the end, finding the secret and finishing the haunted house.

Outside the haunted house, the staff present photos for the pair to choose from. The MC notices Artem seems to be in a thoughtful, melancholy mood; the two take a break at a nearby café.

Artem explains his mood on the day's trip as a lingering disappointment from his childhood due to a cancelled trip with his mentor, Neil Hume. As he thanks the MC for giving his a positive memory in its place, Celestine interrupts to return his phone and keys -- taken earlier to prevent him from going back to work -- and wishes the two well. They go on to spend the rest of the day at the theme park together.

Artem: Hm? It's me. You're not mistaken.

Artem: Am I... interrupting your rest?

Artem: That's good. Thanks to you, I had fun today.

Artem: However, I won't go on roller coasters next time. I'm not suited for them.

Artem: Ah... It is not because my tie will fly up. I didn't intend to go to an amusement park in a suit.

Artem: Are there other places you want to go? I can take you. Consider it a reward for your recent improvements at work.

Artem: Anything is fine. Don't worry about what I think. The most important thing to me is what you want.

Artem: Don't worry if you can't think of anything right now. We have a lot of time.

Artem: My tone sounds like we're at work? I'm sorry if I made you feel uneasy.

Artem: Nervous? A bit... I... never asked a woman out like this, so I don't know what is best to say...

Artem: Especially... towards you.

Artem: I'll try to adjust, but... I'll need some time.

Artem: We can... come together more often? Talking with you more about our daily lives should help.

Artem: All right. I'll put our phone calls into my daily schedule. We'll start tomorrow.

Artem: Are you tired? Go and get some sleep. I'll see you at the firm tomorrow.
