General

Gordon Grant is Harry Grant and Joey Grant's father who suffers from heart disease. His first wife died six months prior to the events of Episode 3: The Weight of a Soul due to unmentioned causes that were believed to be exacerbated by the discovery of his affair with Joanne Scott, mother to Joey. After his wife's death, Gordon allowed Joey, Joanne, and her nanny Fannie Morris to move into the The Grant Estate after his wife's death.[1][2]

Gordon has a tense relationship with his son Harry over financial assets that Harry would inherit from the late Mrs. Grant.[2]

Story

Gordon does not appear in the story and was murdered in Episode 3: The Weight of a Soul. Joanne and Harry are the suspects for Gordon's death but it is unclear who actually caused Gordon to die.[3]

Harry was told by the family doctor, Dr. Denard, that Gordon planned to leave everything in the Grant Estate to Joanne. However, Gordon planned on donating everything to his company, Moonriver Pharmaceutical Laboratories. Gordon also donated Mrs. Grant's assets to his company. However, he did not have control over Mrs. Grant's properties. Mrs. Grant heavily invested in their pharmacy chain and owned most of the shares. Gordon only had management rights while Harry was the one who would inherit these assets. So, Gordon bribed the property custodians, sold his late wife's paintings and antiques, and forged documents to steal the pharmacy shares under Harry's name.[2]

After Moonriver lost its investors, Gordon kept his company running and used Joey as a test subject, resulting in her poor health.[3]
