Notro
Notro is a cybercrime organization where members trade information and illicit services. While Notro began its life as a simple dark web trading platform where members could place orders for hacking jobs, its growing popularity caused it to expand its services, and it now deals in intelligence spies and assassins as well. Fulfilled orders are paid for using a cryptocurrency similar to Bitcoin.
An information-gathering tool known as "Centipede" is at the core of Notro's operations. This tool, which can hack through 60% of the world's firewalls, allows Notro to automatically gather intelligence and support large-scale transactions.
Notro was hacked and temporarily shut down in 2027 by its own top member, Medilla, after which Medilla announced his departure from the organization. Medilla would go on to crash the platform entirely in late 2030, disabling Centipede, and the organization's leadership announced that the data loss would take at least 6 months to recover from. The NXX Investigation Team would later go on to delete Centipede entirely with the help of Medilla's AI assistant after his disappearance; according to DAVIS, it's extremely unlikely that Notro will ever recover from Centipede's loss.[1]
