Summary

Vyn feeds Jill Meadows her dinner and questions her about the case. Jill provides details about how she came to be in the family's employ, the relationship between Letha and her parents, the relationship between the parents themselves, and what she was doing on the night of Letha Graye's death. Jill's hesitance when discussing Letha's father, Hugo Graye, leads Vyn to ask whether Jill is afraid of Hugo, and Vyn offers to let Jill live with him for a short time.
