Summary

After Luke's harsh lesson toward Julian, Julian asks why the two are there; when the main character mentions Gerard Boone, Julian confesses to being the last person at the facility who saw Gerard. The two were roommates, and Julian remembers Gerard fondly for helping defend him against bullies. Julian reveals he didn't report Gerard's escape because the person Gerard left with didn't seem like a bad person.

Reviewing the files about the fights Gerard started, the MC determines Gerard is a righteous but reckless boy who hates when the strong prey on the weak. The incident that caused him to be sent to the facility, in which Gerard assaulted nurse Skye Harper shortly before his mother's death, doesn't immediately appear to fit the pattern of Gerard's punishment of bullies, so the two agree to speak to the nurse next.

At the hospital, observation of Skye Harper seems to indicate she's an attentive and diligent nurse; Luke and the MC speculate while waiting for her to have a free moment to talk about Gerard.
