Summary

A comparison of the amount Joanne has earned through pawning her jewelry reveals it to be about the same as Joey's medical bills, lending weight to the possibility that she may care a great deal more for Joey than she lets on and have financial motive to murder Gordon. Darius requests Joanne's transaction records and confirms the pawn income's purpose as well as the fact that Gordon hadn't supported Joanne and Joey for at least half a year. Darius also confirms that despite Joey's increased prescription, the actual dose being given to Fannie to administer Joey has not changed, leaving the surplus unaccounted for and likely in Joanne's possession.

Artem asks Darius to have all remaining locked items in the room opened, revealing Gordon's private ledger, an up-to-date pharmacy license in Joanne's name, and a research log tracking an experimental anti-aging drug given to an unnamed subject who, from the experiment duration and documented side effects, is clearly Joey. Joanne's fingerprints are on the diary, making it clear that she'd learned of what Gordon had done to her daughter and giving her a strong motive. Darius allows the pair to take much of this evidence directly back to Themis Law Firm, much to the main character's surprise.
