Artem "In Sickness or in Health"/Rewards

Story Summary

This story takes place in Year 1. Artem is not yet in a relationship with the MC.

The Main Character develops a low fever at work; Artem and Kiki press her to go home and rest. At home, she decides to take medicine to speed her recovery, but she can't decide which to take as they all seem to treat one symptom when she has many, so she takes them all. Her fever worsens, and when Artem calls to check on her, she speaks deliriously and falls asleep mid-conversation, causing him to come over.

Artem tends to the MC's fever, but finds going upstairs to get supplies from her room awkward, instead leaving repeatedly to get things from his car or a nearby convenience store. Her fever worsens, and he takes her to his car to drive her to the hospital.

Artem drives the MC to the hospital, forbidding her from sleeping on the way there. Once there, a doctor explains that she had a simple common cold but only grew sick enough to need medical attention because she mixed medications. She's set up on an IV drip, which chills her hands, and told to rest.

The IV drip treatment continues as Artem leaves to get the MC some food, fetching a nurse to care for her on the way. Embarrassed at the trouble she's caused him and the fact that she thinks he'd held her hand while she slept, the MC pretends to continue to sleep even after resting fully.

When the MC awakens, Artem gives her a thermos of homemade chicken congee while chastising her reliance on takeout evident from the state of her kitchen. Since her fever kept coming back while she rested, the MC is ordered to stay overnight for observation.

Celestine visits, bringing canned fruit for the MC's breakfast; Artem rejects these, immediately going out to buy fresh fruit instead. He then brings her home and offers to bring dinner in the evening.
