Naomi Anderson was a photography major at Stellis University of Art who also worked as a club promoter at Night Hunt to pay for tuition, rent, and photography equipment.[1] She died at work on September 28, 2029, a few days after her birthday,[2] of an apparent drug overdose; this incident is the focus of X-NOTE case "NXX-New04."

Naomi's parents divorced when she was very young. Naomi chose to live with her mother and adopted her surname of Anderson, separating from her father and her brother, Jovi Vance. Despite living separately, she was close to her brother, who comments that she liked to have fun and wasn't a "good girl" in the traditional sense, but notes that she would never touch illegal drugs after a close brush with a spiked drink at her previous job that she found terrifying and led to her switching jobs.[1]

She is noted as having been chatty and good-looking with a good singing voice, maintaining good relations with the patrons and owner of Night Hunt. Naomi did not fit in well with her peers at university,[2] rarely attending classes,[3] and at the time of her death, Naomi lived off-campus with her boyfriend, Jerry Jones, whom she'd met online while in high school. She hid her job from Jerry, claiming she was a bar singer.[2] Jerry notes that Naomi was fond of paper cranes.[4]
