|summary=Luke rejects the fortune teller's offer to read his fortune for free, and he has a conversation about the merits of fortune telling with the main character. The two go to Gerard Boone's former home to investigate. They find the home abandoned and covered in dust, with many medical records and over the counter medications from his mother's care, as well as a stack of suicide notes from his mother and a collection of cans that had likely been collected by Gerard. The MC points out that the patient and low-profit can collection is at odds with Skye Harper's allegations of frequent fraud and theft, concluding that Gerard's situation must have changed drastically for there to have been such a shift in behavior. Examining the expiry dates on some of the collected trash and comparing it to the medical receipts, the two determine Gerard's mother's cancer seems unusually sudden and rapid.

Evidence Description (Spoilers)

Medicine that Gerard's mother took every day.

There are many kinds of medicines: cold medicine, gastric medicine, calcium tablet for osteoporosis, and so on. These are all standard, over-the-counter medications.

A Stack of Suicide Notes

Evidence Description (Spoilers)

A stack of suicide notes written by Gerard's mother.

Based on the subtle differences in handwriting, each suicide note was written at a different time. But the contents are similar:
"Gerry, you must forget me completely after I'm gone."
"Gerry, you need to take care of yourself and lead a proper life alone. Don't miss me."
"Gerry, don't worry about me. I'll be fine in Heaven and protect you forever."

Medical Invoice

Evidence Description (Spoilers)

Examination documents from Stellis Public Hospital.

Gerard's mother's examination documents at Stellis Public Hospital. They are all damp and stuck together because of the rain. The ink is smudged, making it difficult to read.

Clue(s)

Excessive Physical Examination

Gerard's mother had multiple medical examinations in Stellis Public Hospital.

Desperate for Money

At first, Gerard sold junk to support his family, but soon, he turned to crime. It was probably because he was desperate for money.

Left Undiagnosed for a Long Time

Although Gerard's mother had multiple medical examinations, she was never diagnosed with cancer until three months before she passed away.
