General
Lynnette Li is a teacher at Hoover High School in charge of class 4 and some English classes. She's noted to be a severe and strict teacher who's unpopular with students and hostile even toward outsiders. She was noted to be especially cold toward fellow teacher Robert Whitaker, with some students speculating this workplace bullying contributed to his suicide. [2][3]
Lynnette began teaching at Hoover High School as an intern teacher when Robert Whitaker was in 12th grade. At the time, she cared deeply for students that had been left behind by family, other teachers, and the system in general, and she gravitated toward Robert for that reason. Later, she had to treat him more coldly as there had been ill-natured rumors about the nature of her visits to his home. Though such speculation persists, Lynnette claims to be happily engaged and not interested in involvement with a coworker.[4]
