Unnamed Nation

From Tears of Themis Wiki

The Unnamed Nation is the nation in which Stellis is located. Little is known about the nation's political and economic structure except that it is divided into provinces or states. Due to the culture, food, architecture, ecology, and historical events depicted in the nation, it is suspected to roughly correspond to real-world China.

Major Cities[edit | edit source]

Stellis[edit | edit source]

Main article: Stellis

Located on the eastern coast of the nation,[1] Stellis is one of the safest areas of the nation. However, it has a higher than average cost of living, which leaves many who emigrate to the city facing financial difficulties or long commutes from Stellis' outskirts and suburbs.

National Capital[edit | edit source]

Located in a different province from Stellis, little is known about the capital. Points of interest in the capital include:

Villages and Rural Areas[edit | edit source]

Various stories in the game describe going to unnamed outlying villages and regions in the nation; these are cataloged here.

Opaline Village[edit | edit source]

Main article: Opaline Village

A tourist town near Stellis, Opaline Village has suffered several misfortunes in recent years, including the destruction of its fishing industry due to the pollution of Opaline River.

"Dragon King Rain" Town[edit | edit source]

Located in the province neighboring Stellis, this unnamed town was once planned to become a tourism hub. The town was partially developed with this goal in mind, but the plans were abandoned when tourist activity was lower than expected. The town is surrounded by canola fields and other farmland, and there is volcanic activity in the area as well.

The town experiences what local legend calls the "Dragon King Rain" every five years, in which a severe rainstorm lasts for days, filling irrigation channels and allowing farming in the town to thrive while also flooding many local roads. In the aftermath of this storm, the "Yin and Yang Springs" appear in the town -- a cold spring and a hot spring. Village elders say that if someone finds both springs in a single day, the "Dragon King" will solve that person's biggest problem.

Known residents of this town include Professor Xumen, a retired Stellis University professor of biology.[2]

"Snow Ridge Mountain" Town[edit | edit source]

Snow Ridge Mountain is located outside Stellis. It's famous enough to have replicas produced of its exquisite scenery, which includes temples, caves, and rivers.

Known past residents of the town around this mountain include Granny Jones.[3]

Snowfall Village[edit | edit source]

This remote village is named for its long snow-covered field and lush pine forest, with abundant snowfall in winter. It often forms a beautiful scene where verdant pines and cypress stand amid the white snow. Most of the young people in the village go out to work, leaving only the old and children.[4]

Snowfall Village is located several hundred kilometers away from Stellis. Although there are country villas on the outskirts of the village, the village is not a popular tourist destination. In addition to its famed snowscapes, Snowfall Village is also known for traditional wood-carving art. The people who live in the small village don't have many winter holiday traditions to speak of.[5]
