You: The task this time is to... read a book with your partner. There's also a list of recommended books here.

Luke rifles through the pile of supplies and finds the corresponding books from the list.

Luke: They even sent the recommended books... Whoever put this game kit together is really thoughtful.

You: Yeah, I feel like there's no way they're making a profit from this.

Luke: Hmm, probably not. Let's take a look at which book to choose.

You: All right.

You and Luke shift your attention to the books. Within a few seconds, you both touch one called "A Timeless Simplicity."

You: Luke, do you like this one?

Luke: Yeah, the title gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling. Why don't we choose this one?

You: All right.

Luke stretches out his arms and embraces you as you cuddle together on the beanbag sofa. You then put the book on his lap.

Luke: I'll be the book stand, and you turn the pages.

You: All right. Let me know if I'm flipping through the pages too quickly.

Luke: Sure.

The space grows silent as you flip the pages, so silent that it's as if you and Luke are the only two people left on Earth...

Before you know how much time has passed, the touching story in the book comes to an end with a plain and simple ending...

You and Luke continue to lean on each other, quietly staring at the book in a daze, remaining immersed in the story.

After another few minutes, Luke holds your hand tightly as he smiles at you.

Luke: I think I understand why this book is called "A Timeless Simplicity."

You: Hmm?

Luke: The book tells the love story of the author and his wife, from their childhood to old age.

Luke: Even though their story is really ordinary, and nothing crazy happens in the plot...

Luke: There is a sort of tranquility and peace that comes with love.

Luke: The love they share... is as plain as water, but it also holds so much meaning.

You: Plain as water, but holds so much meaning...

Upon hearing Luke's words, you can't help but recall various parts of the book.

White flowers planted outside the house, a cup of sugar water during Spring Festival, and the wrinkles around their eyes left over time...

The warmth and emotion encapsulated by the story along with Luke's gaze fills your heart with happiness.

You can't help leaning against Luke's chest, feeling his heartbeat and body temperature...

You: I've always known that I should cherish every day we have together...

You: But I think that feeling has changed a little after reading this book with you.

You: I can't tell whether I feel touched, grateful, or lucky... I just feel like... it's really nice to have you here, at this moment.

Luke reaches out and rubs your head, his eyes full of tenderness.

Luke: Me too...

Luke: Reading this book with you has a really special meaning.

Luke pauses for a while, reaching out to brush the strands of hair off of your forehead before continuing.

Luke: After reading the book, I can't help but want to tell you something.

Luke: You've probably heard it many times by now, but I still want to say it...

You: What?

Luke: [Player], I'll remember every detail of our time together, and I will cherish the simple moments we spend together every day.

Luke: Our life together might not always be peaceful, but our love will last forever...

Under your gaze, Luke's expression is sincere and firm.

You lightly draw circles on his palm with your fingertips, and you start to smile...

Warmth and sweetness overflow in your heart, but that soon turns into a mischievous thought as you feel the urge to tease him.

You: They say "The palest ink is better than the best memory."

You: Are you going to write a book to record everything about our relationship?

Luke: ...

Luke is surprised for a moment after hearing this, but his eyes are filled with curiosity soon after.

Luke: That's not a bad idea. I'll think about what to call it.

Luke: Hmm...

Luke holds his chin and pretends to ponder over it for a few minutes.

Luke: I'm not too good at picking names, but... I can guarantee it'll be really popular with readers.

You: What do you mean?

Luke: "The Life and Times of the Antique Shop Owner and His Wife"!

You: ...

You and Luke grin as you look at each other, then start playing around on the sofa.

The night is like ink, the moonlight like water. Your indulgent laughter floats on the breeze...
