Artem's Residence - Downstairs (Day).png

Stellis has been stuck with rainy weather over the past few days. You and Artem have stayed indoors, afraid of getting Ollie's gorgeous white fur wet.

Early in the morning, you see Ollie laying near the entrance.

Seeing Ollie behaving like that, you look at the weather report while drinking freshly-brewed coffee with Artem.

You: Today's weather going to be great!

Artem: Yeah, Ollie's been stuck at home these past few days. Let's take her for a walk later.

Ollie immediately stands up when she hears "walk."

Ollie: Woof!

Artem looks at Ollie, who looks excitedly at you.

Artem: Ollie has made quite a mess at home these few days. I plan to take her for a long walk today to wear down her energy.

Ollie: Woof!

Hearing "walk" again, Ollie barks excitedly, not caring about what Artem said.

You: Yeah, with such great weather, I want to go on a walk with you too.

Artem crouches to put on Ollie's collar and leash, adjusting them to make sure she is comfortable.

Artem: Let's go, Ollie.

You: Time for a walk.

Ollie: Woof!

Artem waits for you to get ready and takes the leash. As soon as the door is opened, Ollie sprints outside.

You and Artem take Ollie for a walk near his home.

Maybe Artem has made plans to take this route because there are no unexpected incidents along the way.

Artem: Up ahead is a breakfast place I always visit. We can pick something up on the way... Ollie!

Ollie sprints forward all of a sudden, stretching the leash to its limit, which forces her to "brake." However, that doesn't stop Ollie from pulling forward.

You: I think Ollie smells food.

Artem: Yes, I believe so. I have to keep her under control.

Artem stops without warning, and Ollie responds by running back to him and circling his feet.

Artem: Let's keep walking forward.

You: Compared to the first time you walked the dog, you're much more skilled.

Artem: I'm just more familiar with Ollie's behaviors and habits. Ollie is a dog who cares a lot about her owner's feelings.

Artem: With her movement restricted, Ollie will observe her owner's reaction and make a decision. So when she forcefully sprints ahead, I'll have to stop walking to restrain her.

You: I didn't know there was so much to learn about dog walking.

The smell of steamed buns floats through the air.

You: That smells great! Why don't we have steamed buns for breakfast?

Judging by how Ollie twitches her nose while sniffing the steamed buns, perhaps she finds the strange smell rather interesting.

Watching Ollie wags her tail, you decide it's better not to take Ollie inside the shop.

You: I'll go buy breakfast. You and Ollie wait here for me.

Artem: Sure.

You and Artem seem to be on the same page. He smiles, holding onto Ollie's dog leash as you enter the breakfast place.

You place a speedy order for breakfast, inform the owner that it's for take-out, then finally walk out with your food.

You: Let's go!

You and Artem continue to walk side by side, but Ollie refuses to follow.

Ollie: Woof... Woof...

Looking anxious, Ollie suddenly starts growling in the direction of the breakfast place.

Artem: Ollie, let's eat breakfast at home, okay?

Ollie: Woof... Woof...

Ollie forcefully tugs backward on the leash. Despite showing her double chin, she still refuses to submit.

Seeing such a situation, Artem takes out Ollie's favorite beef jerky, encouraging her to walk forward.

Artem: Here, Ollie. Your favorite beef jerky.

Ollie's favorite food is beef jerky, so Artem has been bringing some with him recently.

Ollie: Woof... Woof...

However, at this point, her favorite beef jerky is no longer enticing. Ollie is more interested in the nice-smelling food she has yet to taste.

Artem tries everything, but Ollie still won't budge.

The battle between man and dog appears intriguing, which draws a growing crowd of onlookers.

You notice Artem's ears turn slightly red.

Artem: Ollie!

Staring at the embarrassed Artem and stubborn Ollie, you look down at the steamed bun in your hand as an idea pops into your mind.

You: Ollie, look. What is this?

You rip open the several layers of packaging, the aroma of steamed buns bursting out.

Ollie's attention is immediately focused on the steamed buns in your hands.

You: Ollie, look. Who has the steamed bun now?

You put a whole box of steamed buns in Artem's arms. Ollie looks up at Artem and sits down obediently.

Artem: Ahem, Ollie, let's go. I'll feed you a steamed bun at home.

Without any hesitation, Ollie follows Artem and leaves the place.

You: Problem solved.

With a crowd watching, Artem walks toward you, with steamed buns in one hand and a dog leash in the other.

Artem: Good thing you are here.

You: But Artem, are you really going to feed the steamed bun to Ollie?

Artem: That was just a band-aid solution. When we get home, I'll make her a meal with beef jerky.
