Barosk
Barosk is said to be the "birthplace of wine" in other nations.
The nation of Barosk pulls inspiration from various European countries, including Switzerland (cheesemaking tradition and mountain geography, including the Alps), France (wine culture and the Burgundy/"Bergandi" region), and Slovenia (traditional cuisine). As such, its precise location is difficult to guess.
Areas[edit | edit source]
Lange[edit | edit source]
The tourist center at the Historic Vineyard Museum, nicknamed "The Vine" for the 500-year-old vine on its grounds, features a large grape sculpture that mists a light scent of grapes for several hundred meters surrounding the area. It catalogs all species of grapes grown in Barosk.
Liebe Ranch[edit | edit source]
Liebe Ranch is said to be the largest piece of wilderness in Barosk. It's open to tourists, with the ranch providing activities such as Ranch Rides (a mountain bike rental service to ride a trail around the ranch) and a Food Festival. Some food specialties specific to Liebe Ranch include goat cheese rolls and cheese-stuffed meat. In addition to a typical wine pairing, staff at the ranch also recommend mixing their cheese with milk to make a milk stew.
The milk sold by Liebe Ranch has an impressive enough reputation that some are willing to travel long distances to purchase it.
Pouille Village[edit | edit source]
Pouille Village is host to a Creative Food Festival, though residents there can be less open to creative preparations of their traditional foods than the tradition would seem to indicate.
Bergandi[edit | edit source]
Ferro Winery[edit | edit source]
While much of the winery is a traditional vineyard, Ferro also keeps greenhouses dedicated to each season, where grapes are grown year-round for visitors to learn about and winemakers to experiment with. The greenhouses are designed like intricate gardens, with roses and stone sculptures among the vines. Ferro is famous for its romantic couples' grapevines, an attraction in which visitors to the winery may plant a vine together and later receive wine brewed from the grapes of their vine.
Fia Estate[edit | edit source]
Fia Estate is home to Barosk's largest horse pasture and race track, so it's often used for rodeos or other equestrian events held in the nation. There is also a large man-made lake on the grounds. The ranch raises deer in addition to horses, and they sell venison steak as a local specialty.
Gandi Mountainous Park[edit | edit source]
Culture[edit | edit source]
Cuisine[edit | edit source]
Barosk is especially proud of both its wine and its cheese. The nation's winemaking tradition dates back over a thousand years, and its cheese is made through a traditional process of hand steaming, concentration, and fermentation. Residents are slow to change their attitudes toward their traditional methods for these products, although their wine industry has successfully modernized.
Additionally, potica is said to be a traditional dessert in Barosk.
Religion and Mysticism[edit | edit source]
Believing the sunlight of spring to be the reason for the quality of the nation's grapes, Barosk's residents celebrate the "Spring of Grapes" on a special spring day to pray for a good harvest the following autumn.

"I've tried everything, but they still won't accept my cheese."
Gender: Female
Occupation: Cheese Maker
Bio: Jennie is a cheese maker who lives near Fia Estate. Her uniquely sweet and gooey cheeses are made with a method that isn't traditional in Barosk. Because of this, locals are dismissive of her product despite most never having tried them. The hostility has gone so far in the past that dairy farms have refused to sell to her, disgusted by what she intends to use it for. She was recently introduced to Ivan Affini, agreeing to share her recipes with him in exchange for help with PR and distribution.
