Artem "Dreamful Melodies"/Rewards

Story Summary

This story takes place in Year 1. Artem is not yet in a relationship with the MC.

Artem and main character are exhausted from extensive legal work at the end of the Nosta treasure hunt. Artem fends off a scammer with threats and legal intimidation, which is unlike him, driving the MC to insist he take a break as he hasn't slept in days. Artem promises to stop working and rest, asking the MC to do the same. Another treasure hunter tells the MC about a meteor shower set to take place that morning. She tries to sleep but isn't able to rest for long and encounters Artem in the same situation.

Artem confesses that he wasn't able to sleep at all. The MC suggests they watch the meteor shower together. Artem agrees; their route to the viewing spot takes them through a vast lavender field, which Artem is reluctant to join the MC in. She realizes Artem only wants a walk away from camp and is not enthusiastic about the meteor shower or lavender field. The MC makes various figures from the plants, including a heart and a ring, before she realizes she might be misinterpreted and panics. Artem begins to get tired, but before they can return to camp, it begins to rain.

The two run through the rainy woods in search of shelter. They find a cabin and make a fire, and the MC laments the fact that Artem isn't relaxed anymore, blaming herself for the poor planning. He reassures her and asks her to go to the nearby beach with him later.

At the beach, the attorneys try to relax, but the MC quickly grows restless out of boredom. Artem suggests a game that the MC is confident she can win, but repeated losses ignite her competitive streak and lead the two to discuss courtroom strategy. He apologizes for not having many topics of interest in common to keep her occupied. As "punishment" for losing the game, the MC makes a wind chime. The meteor shower begins at sunrise; when an awestruck MC calls back to Artem to see it, she finds him asleep.

Artem awakens and thanks the MC for helping him sleep. A seagull steals the MC's wind chime, and she gives chase and battles their flock. The two lie down on the beach and admire the sky and sounds of the moment until their contact at base camp asks when they'll be back.

Back in Stellis, Celestine marvels that Artem has taken his first ever sick day due to his exhaustion on the trip to Nosta. She asks the MC to bring some case files to Artem at home. While at his home, the MC finds her broken wind chime on Artem's table, and he explains that he wants to repair it so she has no regrets about the trip; she helps him make a new one from the pieces.

Artem: Sorry for replying this late. I was busy going over the case files. I hope you didn't wait long.

Artem: My flu's better now and I'll be able to go back to work tomorrow. Thanks for being so concerned about me...

Artem: I already told you, it's not your fault. If anything, it's because I've been so stressed lately that I got sick.

Artem: And it's all thanks to you that I was able to have a good dream in a long while.

Artem: When I'm with you, it's as if all my frustrations just simply go away.

Artem: Would you like to go to Nosta again?

Artem: You seem to really like the beaches there, so I thought that maybe we should find time to visit it again.

Artem: It'll purely be a vacation this time. We can take our time and see the island.

Artem: Although we might not be able to see the same sights we saw, there might be other surprises waiting for us to discover.

Artem: Hmm? You've never seen me take a long vacation? Yeah, back then, I wouldn't be able to leave my work long enough to take one.

Artem: And I've always been... alone... so there was no point in taking a long vacation.

Artem: But it's different now that you're going with me. I very much look forward to any kind of time off with you.

Artem: You'd like to go? That's great.

Artem: Once we finish the case on our hands, let's take a long vacation and go together.

Artem: It's getting late. There are still cases pending for tomorrow. Get some rest. I'll see you tomorrow.
