General[edit | edit source]

Zallie, right, with Rio and Lynne.

Zallie is a businessman from Svart. He is the adoptive father and teacher of Rio and Lynne, two street urchins from Svart who had escaped from traffickers.

He is described as a short man with an ornamented burgundy suit. He has an unpleasant personality and arrogant attitude, taking offense to such small talk as questions about his nationality or his student's willingness to talk to strangers.

Zallie takes medication several times a day for various conditions. He frequently takes them with alcohol and, when questioned about this unsafe practice, dismisses concerns by lying and claiming the pills are vitamins.[1]

Story[edit | edit source]

Zallie was killed shortly after The Pluto's most recent departure from Stellis City. Rio, having discovered that Lynne's murder three months prior had been Zallie's doing--and that Zallie had been brutally abusing Lynne for a long time before that--flew into a rage. Zallie claimed that Rio and Lynne were nothing more than his pets, and he could do anything he wanted to them since he'd given them everything. Rio then shoved Zallie into a wall, causing a bump on his head that would go on to cause death due to internal bleeding.[2]

The bump in question was initially determined to be non-fatal, causing confusion at the time of the initial investigation. The fatality was due to another conflict: Zallie had made a deal with Lowe Lear, accepting a million dollars in exchange for raw NXX materials, however due to Lowe's lowborn status, he refused to honor the deal. The true murderer in Zallie's case was, in fact, Lowe, who viewed Zallie's refusal to honor the deal as a death sentence for his sister and swore vengeance. Lowe swapped some of Zallie's medication for warfarin and used subliminal tricks to incite Rio to a physical confrontation with Zallie, knowing any injury would cause fatal internal bleeding as a result of the medication switch.[3]
