Luke "How I Remember You"/Rewards

Story Summary

This story takes place in Year 1. Luke is not yet in a relationship with the MC.

Luke has been hired by a friend to investigate an experience designed for couples that allegedly leads them to break up after attempting it. He asks the MC to attempt it with him. As they sign up at the front desk, the staff takes their phones and direct them to fill out surveys separately from each other, and the two see another couple leaving the experience area while fighting about what happened inside.

The game begins with a such tasks as pictionary and charades, which are easy for the two because of their shared past. In one of the games, Luke is blindfolded while the MC must communicate the book title "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" using only food, which she does with a peanut using the logic "Watson likes peanuts" (see TL note). They complete the entire first section without using hints, which surprises the staff. The second section goes smoothly until they come to a "Memory Maze" that separates the two; they must enter from opposite sides, answer questions to find each other, then find the exit.

Within the maze, Luke and the MC each answer questions about the other; correct answers cause hidden passages reveal themselves. Luke is upset by several questions that show him that the MC led a solitary life while he was away, while the MC is saddened over questions that show how much Luke has changed. The two meet up and discuss their eight years apart while searching for the maze's exit.

During their search for the exit, the lights go out, and the MC is pulled away from Luke by the game's staff. She's directed to change into a skeleton bride costume with a heavy veil so that she'll look similar to other staff members, then she's placed in a lineup with those staff members. When Luke arrives, he's told to pick a bride to take with him, and he picks the MC out easily.

The staff member who's been guiding the two through the experience reveals himself to be the shop owner. He congratulates the two on setting a record completion time and asks them to come by the next week for a gift. The following week, Luke's client, Karl, thanks both Luke and the MC for investigating the game and forewarning him of the activities. Karl's girlfriend eavesdrops and misunderstands the situation, then slowly realizes Karl hired Luke out of nervousness and care and did actually know her answers.

Luke and the MC return to the experience center to collect their gift: a pair of high quality chibi figurines made in their likenesses. They each take the other's figurine. Back at home, Luke takes a call from Aaron Yishmir, who thanks him for helping Karl, his younger cousin.

Luke: I just tried the test you posted.

What test?

You: I did a bunch at once...

You: Which one are you talking about?

Luke: The one about how lonely you are.

The one about loneliness?

You: The one about how lonely you are?

Luke: Yeah, that's the one!

Luke: I didn't think I'd get a 90 on that one...

Luke: What's your loneliness score?

Much lower than yours

You: I only got a 70, much lower than you.

You: I am a social butterfly after all!

Luke: But it's not like I'm a loner...

Same as you

You: I got a 90, same as you.

You: Hey, we're very similar in this area.

Luke: That's something very sad to be similar in...

Luke: The part about "things you've done alone" really got me.

Luke: I've done almost everything in there...

I haven't done some of them

You: There's a lot I haven't done before.

You: I just stay in if there isn't anyone to go out with.

Luke: But it gets kinda boring at home sometimes.

I've done most of them

You: I've almost done everything in it too...

You: I go out by myself even when there's no one else to go with.

Luke: Me too. I don't want to always be stuck at home.

Luke: So I go to the movies or go climb a mountain by myself.

Luke: What do you think is the loneliest thing to do by yourself?

Barbecue alone

You: Probably having a barbecue by yourself...

You: I always have the image that barbecues are always done with the family when on holiday.

Luke: You won't have to go alone anymore.

Luke: I will be with you for every holiday from now on.

Karaoke alone

You: Probably going to karaoke by yourself...

You: It gets lonely when there's no one to listen to you sing.

Luke: Let me know when you want to go karaoke next time. I'll come with you.

Luke: I love to hear you sing!

Text Message		Luke: New Challenge (After Story 6)

You: A few of my colleagues went to the escape room we went to last time.

Luke: Did they succeed?

They all failed

You: Nope, they all failed...

You: I'm the only one who succeeded out of them all.

Luke: Hahaha, I knew it.

Luke: They're no match for us!

Luke: We grew up together!

Someone succeeded, but...

You: Someone did, but they were still much slower than us.

You: And all three hints were used.

Luke: It's pretty good that they were able to finish. Some questions were pretty complicated.

Luke: Not everyone is like us...

Luke: We did grow up together, after all.

Companionship is important

You: Yeah. We've been together for a long time.

You: That's why it's very important to be with one another...

Luke: From now on, I will always be right by you.

Luke: I hope to always be the person that knows you best.

Companionship really is important...

You: It's important to know each other well, but we haven't seen each other for eight years.

You: But we still blazed through the trial without a hitch.

Luke: That's because we still really get one another!

Luke: I'm very happy that we're still the ones that knows each other best.

Luke: Oh, yes. there's another new one that opened recently. You wanna go?

What's the theme?

You: What's the theme for this one?

Luke: It's completely different from the last one we went to.

Luke: It's about fairy tales and fantasy. The posters look amazing.

How hard is it?

You: Is this one harder than the last?

Luke: I'm not sure...

Luke: But the comments online say that it's about the same as the last one we went to.

Let's go together

You: I'm not too busy lately. Let's go.

Luke: That sounds great!

Luke: Then, check when you're free. I'll book us a slot in advance!

Luke: Let's show them what the "perfect partner" looks like!

I don't want to go

You: Ehh, let's not...

You: It's not fun the second time around.

Luke: Alright then...

Luke: Shame. I wanted to break the record again with you!
