General
Irvin Soong is an elderly resident of Opaline Village who's said to be ill-tempered, smacking people with his walking stick when he's in a bad mood, but overall not a bad person. He has an estranged wife and son, but he lives alone, and no one knows what he does from day to day.[2]
Irvin is eccentric, said to come and go like a ghost, and his walking stick doubles as a folding stool, with which he can plant himself and dispense wisdom and gossip wherever he pleases. He's derisive of the city habit of calling people "mister and miss" and directs people to instead call him "Gramps."[3]
