Artem "Calm as the Night"/Rewards

Story Summary

This story takes place in Year 3. Artem is engaged to the MC.

The MC is waiting for Artem for their private movie theater date in a yacht. She remembers Artem wanting to watch a movie about summer, and decides to check for movies. Suddenly, Artem calls and says he will be late. Artem recently joined a pool club and is currently attending a club gathering. The MC notices something odd after talking with Artem, and she decides to check up on him. In the club hall, she spots Artem lounging alone on the sofa in an empty lobby. She finds out that Artem has been drinking. While mingling, the waiter handed him an alcoholic drink and he took it without paying attention. He assures her that he's just tipsy and feeling stuffy. They head inside the club and Artem points her to a certain Billy Chen who will be his next opponent. Artem asks if the MC wants to learn pool. The MC agrees, but only if Artem gets some food first.

Artem starts teaching the MC how to play pool. They set a game of nine-ball. The MC notices Artem acting strange again. She suspects it's because of the alcohol. Just then, Billy Chen calls Artem to start their game. The MC requests a staff to prepare a non-alcoholic drink and give it to Artem after the game is over. Moments later, Billy seems to be winning the game. The MC observes Artem carefully and decides to give him a mint to help with his tipsiness. He asks her to give him some luck. Once it is his turn, Artem takes a gamble to try and end the game early. He hits the 5 ball, causing it to hit the 9 ball, subsequently sending it into the pocket. He wins. The MC hurries over to kiss and congratulate him. Billy Chen raises a toast, and this time, Artem is handed a mocktail. Artem turns down the invitation for another round.

Artem and the MC head to the lounge to rest. He confesses that when he called her earlier, he actually wished for her to come and be by his side. He was really happy when he saw her. The MC tells him that if he needs help getting out of things, he can always rely on her. They then decide to sneak out and leave via the safety exit. There's still time, so they decide to proceed to their private movie theater date tonight.

The private movie theater is located near the port. Artem and the MC choose to go with classic movie experience, complete with vintage projectors and classic film reels. Artem requests to see their collection as he has a collection himself. In the dark storage room and while feeling a bit nostalgic, Artem and the MC share a kiss. Later, both Artem and the MC pick their movie of choice. As they return to the front desk, the MC quickly wipes off lipstick from Artem's lips.

In the yacht, Artem starts setting up the projector. While he's busy, the MC notices that Artem is still not completely sobered up, so she decides to take a picture of him. Artem catches her, but seemingly does not mind it, and asks for a mint. She's out of mints, so she just grabs a mandarin orange instead and starts peeling it for him. He remarks that the fruit is too sour. The MC tries looking for something else, but Artem holds onto her forearm and licks the juice from her hand and arm. He says that he just instinctively felt doing it to clear his mind. They discuss about how Artem freezes up whenever he's drunk or tipsy. It's not very noticeable, but the MC already knows him too well to catch the slight differences. He's thankful for the mint and the orange the MC gave him, and then the MC playfully kisses him to have a taste of the orange as well.

Artem and the MC select the movie and they start with the MC's choice "Summer Interlude". Artem knows that she chose it for him. A few moments later, the projector gets stuck, and which later resulted to Artem and the MC tripping while they walk in the dark. After Artem fixes the projector, they decide to continue watching the film while lying on the floor.

Artem: Good afternoon. Yeah, I just finished getting ready. I'm about to head to the club.

Artem: No, nothing special. I did just receive the film reel you sent over though. Speaking of... when you did buy it?

Artem: So you've been planning this since the day we watched the movie...? No wonder you've been acting so secretive recently.

Artem: Well, I also have a secret that I've been keeping from you. I was planning on telling you when you came over.

Artem: I bought a film projector made during the last century in the 80s. I'm already finished tinkering with it... But the home theater doesn't exactly have the best atmosphere to enjoy a film in.

Artem: Judging by your expression, we must be thinking of the same thing... Yeah, it might be better if we watch it at the pool.

Artem: There's a spare projector screen in the home theater. If we hang it up properly, we could re-create a home cinema.

Artem: Oh? You want to sit on some pool floats in the water and watch the film that way? It sounds nice, but I'm a little worried that we might get distracted.

Artem: But that's fine. We have plenty of time to re-watch those films... I'm happy to do it as many times as needed, as long as I'm with you.

Artem: Because watching those familiar scenes makes me want to experience the same things with you in the future...

Artem: Such as dancing freely to music on an afternoon... Or maybe we could spend an entire night strolling and talking.

Artem: Have you thought about that too? In that case, I'll start preparing for our "movie night" after the party is over so we can enjoy it as soon as possible.

Artem: Okay, we'll do it together. No matter how many creative ideas you may have, you and I can make them a reality together.

Artem: Then, will you come pick me up at around 6 o'clock? We can have dinner first, then go over the details...

Artem: More importantly, I can't wait to see you already... All right, I'll wait for you. See you later.
