Vyn "Cool Summer"/Rewards

Story Summary

This story takes place in Year 1. Vyn is not yet in a relationship with the MC.

Upon hearing that the Main Character is taking her annual leave, Vyn asks if she'd like to accompany him to a sightseeing trip after doing a patient check-up in a town in the neighboring state. The MC asks to accompany Vyn on his patient visit if possible, and the two meet and chat with Professor Xumen, then leave.

The MC asks Vyn questions about a dusty bicycle in the professor's yard. As the conversation moves on to the next stage of the vacation, heavy rains begin and do not cease for three days, and flooded roads threaten to trap the two in town even longer. Determined to make the best of the vacation, the two return to Professor Xumen asking questions about the "Dragon King Rain" and "Yin and Yang Spring" phenomena discussed on the local news. The professor asks for help in his fields while he talks.

Vyn and the MC enjoy helping with the professor's harvest, with the MC surprised at Vyn's willingness to perform such work and impressed by his knowledge of plants.

Professor Xumen explains the "Yin and Yang Spring" phenomenon: one hot spring and one cold spring will appear in the region at unpredictable locations, and local legend says that if a person finds both springs in a day, the Dragon King will solve that person's biggest problem. That night, Vyn disappears; the MC finds him on the road, teaching himself how to ride a bike using Professor Xumen's old bicycle. She stays hidden, understanding that he doesn't want to be seen. The next morning, Vyn arranges a bicycle trip to search for the Yin and Yang Springs.

With the MC on the back of the bike, Vyn rides around the town for most of the day, mapping a complex river chart to follow the streams and locate the springs. The two find the hot spring in a small forest, but they get lost searching for the cold spring. The MC suggests they can resume the search the next day.

While discussing their plans, the two hear the cold spring nearby and locate it easily; the MC asks the Dragon King to clear the roads so they can return. Vyn suggests they leave, but the MC suggests they take the opportunity to relax together at the spring. The next morning, the news announces that the roads have cleared. Vyn asks the MC whether she regrets the trip and is surprised to find she doesn't.
