Vyn "Snowy Fairy Tale"/Rewards

Story Summary

This story takes place in Year 1. Vyn is not yet in a relationship with the MC.

When the MC laments the lack of snow in Stellis, Vyn invites her to accompany him to a medical conference in an area with heavy snow. A friend of Vyn's loans the two the use of his villa in the area, and the two go out to a pine forest near the villa to pick a Christmas tree. While examining the trees, a squirrel with a makeshift ribbon collar jumps on the MC's head. The two decide to search for its owner and soon find a boy demanding the return of "Devil," his pet squirrel. The boy runs back to the neighboring village, and although Vyn and the MC can't keep up with him, they follow his footprints and ensure his safe return.

Vyn suggests the MC build a snowman since it was one of the reasons she'd wished for more snow in Stellis. The two build it together while discussing childhood activities and memories. The boy from earlier finds them later and asks for help finding Devil, who has run off once again. He asks the two to search without him, saying he can't go far because of his granny's bad leg.

The two find Devil in the woods behind the villa. Vyn easily gains the skittish squirrel's trust, and they head back to the boy's village. The MC begins to suspect the boy's parents have left him alone in the village with his granny, which his granny confirms when she meets them. Introducing the boy as Mason, she asks the pair for a favor.

Mason's granny asks Vyn and the MC to spend Christmas with Mason since she isn't sure how the holiday works and there aren't many young people in the village to ask. The three discuss the situation in the village: most younger adults leave for work, leaving the village populated by only children and the elderly. Vyn and the MC agree to celebrate with him; later, Vyn decides to arrange for care workers to help the children, and he consoles the MC, who is missing her parents, as well. The next day in town, the two select gifts for Mason, his granny, and each other.

Vyn and the MC decorate the villa and the Christmas tree together with Devil, who was sent ahead by Mason while the boy finishes his homework. Devil tries to bite the large bell decoration that the MC hopes will remind Mason of his parents, and the MC scolds the squirrel. Vyn discusses the meaning of the star decoration and his own hopes and wishes.

On Christmas Eve, Vyn and the MC invite Mason and his granny for a Christmas dinner and celebration with presents, offering to let the two stay the night so they can celebrate as long as they want. Mason asks for Vyn and the MC to read him stories like his parents used to; Vyn agrees, and Mason falls asleep. Vyn and the MC exchange gifts once the others have turned in for the evening, finding that they've both gotten the other a squirrel figurine in the other's likeness.

Vyn: Did you get the chance to have a look at the weather forecast? It might get colder as of late, so remember to keep warm lest you catch a cold.

You: I haven't had the chance yet. I have been quite busy recently.

You: Although it does feel like the weather is getting colder and colder...

Vyn: Remember to take care of yourself. I can always remind you about the number of layers you should wear if you are too busy to keep track of it.

I did. I'm all prepared.

You: I've seen it. Don't worry, I'm all prepared.

You: I'll put my electric blankets and warming pads to good use!

Vyn: That sounds good. It would be bad if you were to catch a cold.

Vyn: This reminds me, how much use are you getting out of the thermos flask that I gave you a while ago?

Warm water?

You: Dr. Richter, are you perhaps telling me to take care of myself by drinking more warm water?

Vyn: Drinking warm water is the essence of maintaining a healthy body.

Vyn: I can also recommend you a few teas to tide you through the winter if you wish to drink something else.

It's useful. I use it every day.

You: The flask is really useful. I use it every day to brew goji water.

Vyn: Good. It seems like I made the right decision.

Vyn: If you want, I can also recommend a few teas that you can try during winter.

Sure

You: Sure! It'll be great if it's something I can drink both at home and at work.

Vyn: I brew floral teas like rose or jasmine tea once in a while. It is a personal interest of mine.

Vyn: I do not have too many options, but the taste is decent, and hot water is all you require.

Vyn: I can pick a few flavors and bring it over to you later for you to try. You can pick one out of the lot.

I don't like tea

You: I don't really want to drink tea... Is there anything else?

Vyn: Of course there are. Drinking tea is just a habit of mine. It is alright if you do not share the same interest.

Vyn: What kind of drinks do you like? I am quite interested.

Vyn: We can go to a café later, my treat.

I'll see you soon

You: Sure, I'll see you later.

Vyn: Sure. I will be waiting at the entrance to your apartment. See you later.

I'll come and find you

You: Okay, I'll come and find you later.

Vyn: Please remember to wear warm clothing. I will be waiting.

Text Message		Vyn: Harvest (After Story 6)

You: Dr. Richter, can you tell me some stories about the interesting festivals from your hometown?

Vyn: Interesting festivals? In that case, the harvest festival comes to mind. The festival is an occasion to celebrate a bountiful harvest.

What kind of events?

You: What fun events are there?

Vyn: There are many, such as open-air stalls, parades of people in their traditional clothing, and reenactments of mythological fables.

Vyn: The stalls also sell all sorts of hand-crafted trinkets. I think you will like them.

What kind of food are there?

You: What kind of foods are there?

Vyn: There are many choices. I would recommend smoked salmon. Salmon is one of the specialties of the festival.

Vyn: The texture is rich and supple, and the flavor is a perfect balance between savory and sweet. I believe it will suit your tastes.

Vyn: However, the most interesting one would still be the dance at the end of it. We would dance and sing folk songs around a bonfire.

You can sing?

You: Does that mean you can sing?

Vyn: I can sing, but I am an amateur. There was a professional conductor present, so all we had to do was to follow along.

Vyn: The chorus was mesmerizing and extraordinary.

You seem to like the songs

You: Seems like you're pretty fond of folk songs.

Vyn: Indeed, I quite enjoy the beautiful melodies.

Vyn: There would be a professional choir singer there. The singing was always mesmerizing.

Can you sing some for me?

You: Well, how about you sing a few melodies for me?

Vyn: ...My apologies. I am not good at singing, and I do not wish to present you a poor mimicry.

Vyn: I do have vinyl records in my house, however. Please feel free to come over and listen to them any time you wish.

I want to hear it

You: Now I want to go after hearing what you said.

Vyn: If you are interested, I do have the vinyl records. You are welcome to come over and listen to them.

Vyn: I will make some cheesecakes. It's a special dessert that is only available at the festival.

The flavor must be exquisite

You: Wow! A special dessert! It must taste delicious!

You: I can't wait!

Vyn: That is assuring to hear. I will be awaiting your visit.

Can you teach me?

You: Cheesecakes? Can you teach me how to make them?

You: A special dessert, you say? Then it must be one special experience!

Vyn: Of course. I will be waiting for you.
