After a long and complicated day, night finally falls on the Imana Rainforest.

A bonfire is lit in the rainforest, far from all the noise. The ember sparks and hum of insects impart a campfire mood upon the surrounding area.

You sit by the bonfire with Marius to talk about what you experienced during the day.

You: So this whole thing just seems to be a massive misunderstanding.

The allure of a quick buck has led people to chop down the rainforest, but the long-term repercussions...

Marius: I'm really not sure what to say.

Cutting down trees and damaging the rainforest is bad for the environment.

But at the same time, you can also understand what's driving people to do so.

They just want to earn money to improve their own quality of living.

However... Rainforests are a finite resource — they won't last forever.

Marius: Even if we stop people this time, others will follow behind them...

Marius: This cycle will keep continuing unless we find a more lucrative and environmentally sustainable solution...

You: ...I understand.

You completely understand what Marius is trying to say, but...

You: I want to do something to help them.

Marius: Quit scowling. You have me here, don't you?

Marius caresses your forehead. The warmth from his fingers radiates onto your skin. Stunned, you look up, your eyes meeting his.

Marius: I saw this quote on a lunar calendar once... "If a problem can be solved with money, then it isn't a problem."

Marius: Everything's fixed if we just think of a way to help them make more money, right?

His silliness dispels the apprehension you were harboring within your heart.

You: Pfft... Where'd you find this kind of calendar?

Marius: The von Hagen family's ancestral calendar.

Marius: Fine, I'll give a real answer.

Marius: Tomorrow, the train will arrive at the Napo Jungle station. Pax built a biological research station there.

Marius: First, let's check out these magical parrot flowers and see just what exactly their medicinal and economic values are.

Marius: If they're really that amazing, it'd be nice if more people could grow it.

You: You mean... combining science with local knowledge to increase sustainability and profitability?

You have a rough idea of what Marius is saying.

Yes, if executed correctly, you might be able to find a way to increase local profits without further damaging the environment.

It shouldn't be hard for Pax to establish a supply chain for mass producing plants.

You: Marius, you're amazing!

Marius doesn't respond. Uncharacteristically, he shakes his head with extreme caution.

Marius: It's just a rough idea. I can't guarantee that it'll be successful.

Marius: That's why I need you to hold your praise for now... After this is over, you can compliment me twice as much.

He winks at you. Moonlight shines through the dense rainforest canopy and illuminates his face, which flickers with the swaying of the boughs above.

From his handsome features, you can see the strength of his determination and calmness.
