Napo Jungle
At the Napo Jungle station, you get off the train with Marius and walk along a path towards the biological research station on the outskirts of the jungle.
After walking for 10 minutes, you see a woman dressed in outdoor gear waving at you.
???: Mr. von Hagen, Miss [Player], it's nice to meet you.
???: I'm Leyla Casey, a researcher at the Napo Biological Research Station. Nice to meet you.
You: It's nice to meet you too, Leyla.
Leyla Casey: Yesterday, Mr. von Hagen said that he would be visiting our research station. On behalf of all the staff here, welcome.
Oh? When did Marius say that?
As your confusion grows, you see him smirking proudly beside you.
Marius: We were originally supposed to be here for sightseeing.
Marius: Who would've guessed that we'd get stuck in a pothole on our trip... All we can do is solve that problem first.
You: By the way, any progress on the parrot flower study?
Leyla Casey: Yes. We recently performed a parrot flower growth experiment, and germination was thankfully successful.
Leyla Casey: Let's walk and talk, and I'll introduce the Napo Jungle to you on our way. How does that sound?
You: All right, that would be great.
On the way to the biological research station, Leyla passionately talks to you two.
Leyla Casey: Napo Jungle is truly beautiful.
Leyla Casey: After a busy day at work, we usually head to the jungle to sightsee and relax.
Leyla Casey: Oh, right... There's an indigenous village in the southern part of the jungle...
Leyla Casey: It has some amazing cultural customs. I highly recommend going for a visit, if you have time.
You: What kinds of customs?
Leyla Casey: For example, they prepare a special sour drink for guests.
Leyla Casey: If you finish it in one gulp, they say you'll be recognized by their deities, and you'll receive the villagers' warmest hospitality.
You: (Huh? Sounds kinda exciting...)
Leyla Casey: They also have a fun fishing festival!
Leyla Casey: Every autumn when the fish are at peak growth, they'll have a huge fishing event.
Leyla Casey: The brave participants have to craft their own tools to catch fish in the river...
Leyla Casey: Whoever catches the most fish will be considered the luckiest and most blessed by the gods.
You: Leyla, does the village have any specialty foods? Have you tried them?
Leyla Casey: There's a lot! During my last romp there, I ate a lot of wonderful food.
You: Like what?
Leyla Casey: Well... For example, they have a roast pork that's made by wrapping pork in banana leaves and grilling it over a charcoal fire. It's so good!
Leyla Casey: The fragrance of the banana leaves complements the fatty pork. When you take a bite... Ahh, I'm drooling just thinking about it!
You: (Judging by Leyla's face, it really must be that delicious!)
You: Napo Jungle sounds like a lot of fun!
Leyla Casey: Yeah! The next time you're free, you have to come back for a proper tour. I can show you around the village!
You: Marius, let's go there the next time we're here.
You: We can go to the fishing festival and try the jungle's specialty foods.
Marius: Yeah. I want to win that fishing festival.
You: Sure, sure. I'll cheer you on from the riverbank.
