Following Marius' footsteps, you walk from the natural scenic spot to the rainforest project area.

Staff: Hello and welcome to the rainforest project area.

Marius: Look, a professional.

As soon as he sees the staff member, Marius winks at you.

Marius: [Player], if there's anything you want to know, you can ask now.

Did he specifically bring you here so that your questions could be answered by a staff member?

You actually had just wanted to tease him a little... You didn't think he'd take things to heart.

You: Hello! I'm curious about the plants and animals in the rainforest. Can you tell me more about them?

Staff: Of course. What do you want to know?

Beautiful flora

You: I heard there are a lot of beautiful flowers here. Can you tell us about some of them?

Staff: Sure. Most flowers in the rainforest are brightly colored, and one of the prettier ones is...

Staff: I think the Purple Joy water lily is the best-looking one.

You: Are they in bloom now?

Staff: Purple Joy is a valuable water lily with bluish-purple petals. It's a stunning flower.

Staff: But... It only blooms for seven days every summer, so I can't show you any at this time of year.

You: (That's a shame. I'd really love to see them the next time I have a chance.)

Animals

You: Oh, I saw some small monkeys in the trees when I came here.

You: Look...

You show the photos on your phone to the staff member.

In the photo, some small, black monkeys are sitting in a row on a tree branch. Their round eyes curiously focus on the humans trekking through the rainforest.

Staff: Oh, those are young spider monkeys. They're unique to our rainforest reserve.

You: Why are they called spider monkeys? They look nothing like spiders.

Staff: Because of their long limbs and how they move among the trees, they resemble large spiders.

You: They're definitely cuter than spiders...

Staff: They may look cute, but this species of spider monkey is actually timid and can get aggressive.

Staff: If you wanna look at spider monkeys, be sure not to get too close.

You: Got it. I'll keep a safe distance between myself and the animals here.

Butterflies

You: The butterflies resting on that tree trunk... Blue morphos?

When you had entered the rainforest reserve, you had noticed some beautifully blue butterflies on a tree trunk.

You finally found a chance to ask about them.

Staff: Yes. That's the Menelaus blue morpho, a common sight in the rainforest.

You: It's so pretty. Marius, look at how shiny its wings are in the sun!

Marius: It sure lives up to its name.

Staff: Their beauty is also one of the things that threaten their survival.

Staff: Before the reserve was set up, many people poached them to sell on the market.

Staff: For a long time, these beautiful butterflies were hardly seen in the rainforest.

You: Good thing the reserve was made...

You: I have a few questions...

Staff: Shoot. I'll tell you anything as long as I know it.

As time goes by, there are more and more things you want to understand.

The staff member's passionate and patient explanations keep you captivated.

You don't know how many questions you've asked or how long you've been talking about the rainforest with them.

You feel like there are so many things about this rainforest and this land waiting to be explored and discovered.
