Luke "Honeyed Secret"/Rewards

Story Summary

This story takes place in Year 3. Luke is engaged to the MC.

The MC is tidying Luke's office when she finds Luke's secret New Year's resolutions list. One of the unchecked items is "Build another perfect snowman." Just then, Luke arrives and they go out for a meal. The MC chances upon an advertisement for "Winter Paradise" in a brochure in the restaurant. It is an amusement park that they went when they were little. Upon learning of the snow in the park, she plans to invite Luke for a date. As they are leaving the restaurant, the restaurant owner gives them wishing tags that will be hang during the Winterwish Festival. Somehow she knows that Luke will write down about the snowman. She writes down that she wishes to try Winter Tracks with Luke again.

Back at Luke's place, the MC subtly suggests to Luke that they visit Winter Paradise. The day of their trip comes, and both of them are surprised and amazed of the snow in the park. Before the MC could steer Luke towards the Winter DIY Cabin where they can build a snowman, he suggests it outright to her. He already knows that she invited him there because she saw his New Year's resolution list. The MC realizes she can't hide anything from Detective Pearce. Luke recounts that he indeed already built a snowman for her when they were younger, but right before he could give it to her, a kid accidentally ran into it. So he wants to make another snowman for her.

Luke and the MC arrive in the Winter DIY Cabin. They proceed to gather decorations for the activity. Luke suggests that they sit separately and create their snowmen individually. The MC thinks of crafting Peanut and pairing him with another bird. A few moments later, Luke presents to her the cute little snowman he created for her.

The MC appreciates Luke's crafted little snowman. Then she gives him the pair of birds she made. He jokingly remarks that Peanut looks a lot thinner. They go out to place their works in the display area. Later, they decide to go to the Winter Tracks. The MC is surprised that Luke seems to know what she wrote in her wishing tag. When they were kids, they wanted to try Winter Tracks, but they weren't tall enough. After that, they tried drinking disgusting herbal drinks to help them grow taller.

Luke and the MC starts to fall in line for the Winter Tracks activity. The line is very long, and then moments later, an announcement is given that the attraction will be closed for 3 hours. However, Luke pulls the MC towards the staff entrance. Apparently, Luke previously worked as a volunteer for the park, and thus, he has a privilege to go to one of the attractions without waiting in line. The MC then realizes that Luke has already planned this date even before she "planned" it. They proceed to the activity area. After being given instructions, they sit in the sled and then take off. It takes a while before the MC relaxes, but with Luke's guidance and reassurance, she starts to enjoy the ride, too.

After the exhilarating ride, Luke finally explains his original plan for this date - the restaurant with the brochure that has the Winter Paradise advertisement was part of his plan, and the restaurant owner was an accomplice. If the MC did not write Winter Tracks on her wishing tag, he might not have tried to find a chance to make a snowman as he deems fulfilling her wishlist is more important than his own. The MC tells him that his wishes are important to her. In the end, they are able to fulfill both their wishes. A few days after their trip, the park sends Luke and the MC a photo of their Winter Track activity. The MC is disgruntled to see her expression in the photo. Luke tells her she's cute. She vows to have a big smile the entire way the next time they try it again.

Luke: Ahem... Then, allow me to introduce you.

Luke: A new stress toy experience room opened up in the city today...

Luke: I hear it's really fun, and they'll be open all night for their grand opening.

Luke: Not only is it a new experience, but you can also relieve a bit of stress there...

Luke: Sounds good, doesn't it?

Depends on how work goes

You: I don't have to work overtime today, so the usual?

You: Where are you taking me?

Luke: I wanted to keep it a secret, but... I'll tell you since you asked.

Luke: A stress toy experience room opened today, and I heard it's really fun...

Luke: They'll be open all night for their grand opening, so I wanted to take you there.

Luke: We can even buy a stress toy to bring home!

A sudden interest

You: That sounds great! But... when did you start following this sort of stuff?

You: You didn't read another editorial like "How to Add Excitement to Your Life," or something, did you?

Luke: You got me...

Luke: But that's not important. Why don't you think about what kind of stress toy you like first?

You: Really? What a coincidence...

You: I've wanted to buy one to keep at the office to squeeze all my stress into now and then.

Luke: Mhm, I knew you'd like it.

Luke: So, is there a design that you like?

You: Hmm... I don't know.

You: Let me take a look at the online reviews for stress toys so I have a better idea.

Luke: All right, then you'll be clearer on what you're looking for when we're there.

Have to experience it firsthand

You: Hmm... It's a little hard to think of one off the top of my head.

You: But we still have to go there and see them firsthand to know which kind is better.

Luke: You're right. Nothing beats seeing it for ourselves.

Luke: Anyways, I'll pick you up when you get off work.

You: All right, then it's settled.

You: I'll work hard to get off work on time!

Luke: Don't worry, I'll wait for you as long as I have to.

You: Luke, report in! Luke, report in!

Luke: What's going on? I only just left... Miss me already?

Luke: Or do you want me to bring you something delicious when I get home?

You: Mmm, neither. It's about Peanut.

Luke: Peanut? What's wrong with Peanut?

You: He started flying around the house soon after you left. I think he wants to go outside.

You: So I'm here to ask you when you'll be back so we can take him out.

Luke: Ahh... I see.

You: Someone's pet is flying around the house. I think he wants to go outside.

You: That's why I'm here trying to figure out when you'll be coming back.

Luke: Hah... all right.

Luke: But, man... you didn't message me because you missed me?

Luke: That makes me a little sad. Now I need a little something to motivate myself...

Unwillingly admit you miss him

You: Oh, what am I gonna do with you... Fine, I'll admit it, I do miss you a little.

You: So... When are you coming back?

Luke: I promise I'll finish the job as fast as I can!

Luke: Give me fifty minutes—I'll definitely be home by then.

"Strike back" against Luke

You: Oh, please. I already gave you a goodbye kiss when you left... You're being too greedy.

You: Seriously though, when are you coming back?

Luke: Fine, fine.

Luke: I should be finished in about half an hour, so I'll be home in around fifty minutes.

Wait patiently

You: Okay, take your time.

You: Peanut and I will be waiting for you to come home.

Luke: Okay. See where you'd like to take Peanut later.

Prepare for going out

You: All right, I'll organize the stuff we need while I wait.

Luke: All right, and think about where we can take Peanut later.

You: How about Central Park?

You: The scenery is really nice and the air is clean. I'm sure Peanut will like it there.

You: Why don't we go to the artificial lake? I hear they have a lot of pigeons there.

You: Maybe Peanut will be able to make new friends there.
