Supermarket
Go to the supermarket with Luke to buy ingredients for dinner tonight.
Luke: We've got pork belly, onions, ginger, garlic, and a carton of eggs. What else do we need?
You: Do we have crystal sugar at home?
Luke: Yes. I bought some a couple of days ago.
Inside the supermarket, you and Luke are carefully selecting ingredients.
You: Hmm... Do you want to get some potatoes? They should make a good stew.
Luke: Sure. Grab some of those round ones. I saw in a cookbook that round ones are good for stew.
You: In a cookbook?
Luke: Yep. I did some research before coming here!
Luke: I have been thinking that as a couple, we can't eat outside every day.
Luke: Although my cooking skills aren't good, they will eventually get better through practice.
Luke: Your job is quite intense, so I will be the one cooking for us from now on...
Luke stops talking. He seems too shy to continue.
You: From now on...

Now that you have bought the ingredients, go home with Luke and make dinner.
Luke: Okay, let me handle the kitchen. You go sit on the couch.
You: I can't do that. We said we were going to cook together.
You: Luke, are you afraid of messing things up? Is that why you don't want me in the kitchen?
Luke: No, I'm not! I just don't want you to be in the smoke...
You: Smoke?
Luke: No-nothing... Fine... You can stay and help. But... be careful and don't get burned.
You: No problem!
Assist Luke with dinner preparations. Wash the ingredients first.

You: Are two tomatoes enough?

Go near the dinner table and wait for Luke to join you for the lovely dinner.
After preparing the ingredients, you sit down at the dining table and wait for dinner.
Suddenly, you smell something burning.
You: Luke, do you smell that...?
Luke: Yes, something is burning.
You and Luke share a look of panic.
Luke: Oh no! It's the braised pork!
Luke: Turn off the stove!
You: H-How do I turn it off!?
15 minutes later.
At the table, Luke stares at the burned "meat."
You: It's okay. Although we are not going to have braised pork tonight, we still have other dishes.
Luke: But, I was aiming to... prepare a perfect meal that you would enjoy.
You: I am enjoying it.
Luke shakes his head and grimaces, looking extremely down. To comfort Luke, you randomly pick up something with your chopsticks.
You: Mmm... Yummy!
You: The tomato omelette is as good as ever. It tastes familiar!
Luke: ...
You: Come on, don't be sad. It's your first time making braised pork.
You: Do you remember the time we made steamed tangerine crab? It took us nearly a day to finally get it.
Hearing steamed tangerine crab, Luke finally lifts his head and his eyes light up.
Luke: All right, let's try it again. I'm sure I'll...
You: You will make it! For sure.
You take Luke's hand, interlock your fingers with his, and wave them in front of him.
You: Detective Pearce, I'll give you a reward for your persistence in cooking.
Luke: A reward?
You: Mm-hmm, like...
You lean down and slowly approach Luke. The warmth of the kiss lasts less than a second.
You: A kiss.
Luke: ...
A few moments later, Luke touches the side of his face.
Luke: What just happened...
You: I owe you a goodbye kiss, so now I'm making up for it.
You: We are dating. It's... normal to kiss.
That's true but when you are really facing it, you find it a little awkward.
You run into the kitchen to hide your red cheeks.
You: Come on. Braised Pork Challenge is on!
Just like every couple in the world, you and Luke, too, are adjusting to each other's new roles.
And unlike them, you and Luke have been having feelings for each other since childhood.
Those feelings are engraved in both of your hearts and will never change no matter how many years have passed.
