You agreed to meet with Marius at Sonnets Fashion today, so you hurry over right after work.
Sonnets Fashion.
The shop got its name from the fact that every piece of clothing designed by its owner is themed around one of Shakespeare's sonnets.
Because of what happened before, you now have permission from the shop owner, Blaine Marshall, to use the shop freely.
You walk into the private workshop at the back of the boutique, and a familiar figure appears before you.
The bright light shines on Marius, creating a soft halo.
He is dressed in a vintage suit, with a tape measure hanging around his neck and a pin cushion on his wrist.
This unusual combination stirs up a special feeling in you.
You don't know what's on Marius' mind as he frowns lightly, his long, slender fingers tapping the page every now and then.
Marius: There's something wrong with this design...
Marius: Maybe I should change perspectives and try it from a practical standpoint.
Marius: No, that would affect the overall artistic feel...
You: (He seems stumped.)
Seeing him in distress, you can't help thinking back to what happened in Marius' office a few days ago...
President's Office
After finishing some official business at Pax, you head over to the president's office to find Marius and head home together.
Upon entering, you see him poring over a proposal, deep in thought, not even noticing your presence.
You: What's on your mind?
Hearing your voice, Marius looks up at you in surprise.
Marius: When did you arrive? I didn't even notice.
You: I just got here. What are you pondering over?
He pushes the proposal on the table over to you, smiling.
Marius: Take a look at the proposal sent over by the marketing department. Some legal matters need your confirmation.
You scan the proposal, and the legal aspect seems fine.
But something in the proposal piques your interest. Essentially, it's a plan relating to the upcoming contract between Pax Fashion & Design and Sonnets Fashion...
"Presidential Design Week" will launch with Marius von Hagen, President of Pax, personally participating in the design of next season's outfits.
When the event ends, the outfits designed by Marius will be available to the public, along with those designed by designers of Pax Fashion & Design and Blaine Marshall.
You: So you're being used as a selling point to expand the popularity of Pax Fashion & Design?
He nods resignedly.
Marius: Yeah, this marketing department sure isn't shy about "making good use" of me. I must be giving them too much freedom.
Despite his grumbling, he seems to be in a good mood. Evidently, he's interested in the project.
You: Will you be taking part?
Marius: Of course. My charisma is a resource, after all, but...
Marius stops suddenly, then approaches you with a smile.
Marius: It would be even more perfect if you'd be willing to help.
You: Me? But this event requires all these professional skills. I don't know how I can help.
Marius: It won't be hard. After all, I'm just a gimmick. Just treat it like a way to decompress, okay?
Marius seems worried that you might refuse, so he puts on an adorably pitiful demeanour. It's quite the stark contrast against his formal attire.
You: (I wonder how his subordinates will feel if they see this side of him. Still...)
You know that you can't say no to him.
You: All right, but I can probably only be an assistant or something.
Marius: That's okay! It's enough for you to stay by my side.
You thought Marius' participation would only be a symbolic gesture, and that the specific designs would be handed over to Pax designers.
However, judging by how engrossed he is in the project, it seems like he wants to personally take part in creating a design.
At this moment, Marius looks up, his troubled look instantly turning to delight.
Marius: How long have you been here? Why didn't you say anything?
You: You were so focused that I didn't want to interrupt.
You: Didn't you say you were using this to decompress? You're taking this so seriously.
Marius doesn't refute your teasing words.
Marius: Don't you know what I'm like, Miss?
Marius: No matter what it is, I'll do it to the best of my ability.
Marius: And Pax has officially announced my participation in the event, which means that I have to show my utmost sincerity.
You: You're right. Well, keep up the good work. Let me know if there's anything I can do for you.
Marius: If I do well, can I ask for a reward?
You: What kind of reward?
Marius: Hmm... I haven't decided yet. I'll let you know when I think of something.
You: Sure, it's a deal.
