Journalist Pearce's situation
You: Journalist Pearce, can you tell me about your work at the news agency?
Luke: Of course. What would you like to know?
You: Let me think...
You: Oh, why don't you tell me about some interesting news? Or maybe something memorable you experienced at work?
Luke: Well...
Luke: Oh—although there are many things worth remembering, the one that made the biggest impression on me was...
Luke: When I was still a junior reporter, there was something I had to do every day. I had to go and organize the old news documents in the file room...
Luke: One day, as I was going through the files, I came across a report from many years ago.
Luke: It said that a pilot sacrificed his life to save one of his own... He died without telling the person he loved how he felt.
You: That sounds... so sad...
Luke: Yeah, and for some reason, the report gave me a very odd sense of deja vu...
Luke: If I wasn't a firm believer in materialism, I might actually believe that pilot was another version of "me."
You: That does sound pretty interesting.
You: (But now that he mentions it... this story sounds familiar to me too...)
You: (Could it be that... there really is another "me" in this world?)
Journalist Pearce's Question
Luke: Little Boss, can I talk to you for a second?
You: Of course, what's the matter?
Luke: Well, I was thinking... with something so big taking place, the Li Hotel's business is going to be affected for quite a while...
Luke: Maybe you should do a little promotion to restore the hotel's name after everything's been taken care of.
You: Hmm... You do make a good point, Journalist Pearce.
You: This isn't just any ordinary case... The customers that come and stay here might also care about what has happened...
You: But what should I do...?
Luke: Well, maybe you should consider putting in an ad in our newspaper, Xuzhou News, and promoting yourself a bit.
Luke: I can write the drafts for you, and the price is negotiable.
You: Okay, that's a great idea. Let me think about it! Thanks, Journalist Pearce.
Luke: No problem. I'm sure we came across each other for a reason. Just see this as a little something from me.
Consultant Wing's situation
You: Consultant Wing, can I ask you something about the Yingxing Trading Company?
Artem: What would you like to know, Little Boss?
Artem: I will tell you everything I am allowed to, as long as it isn't confidential.
You: Actually... I was just wondering if it's a lot of pressure to work at Yingxing...
Artem: Pressure?
Artem: I see, I thought...
You: You thought I would try to dig and ask you about something secretive?
Artem: No, but regarding the pressure... I find it to be adequate.
Artem: I am capable of completing the tasks that the company delegates to me. So, I haven't really had difficulty with work.
Artem: I'm just not fond of the politics at work, so I may appear to be an outcast.
Artem: But, I have no interest in fitting in with them either, of course.
You: I see...
You: (For some reason, it sounds like "Consultant Wing" is actually talking about his real job.)
Consultant Wing's Question
Artem: Little Boss, do you have some time right now?
You: Yeah, something urgent, Consultant Wing?
Artem: No, I just wanted to come and ask about how the hotel's been doing recently.
Artem: After all, it's your first time running a hotel... And I was wondering if I could be of any help.
You: Thank you for your concern, Consultant Wing. The hotel is running normally... And I can handle the workload so far.
You: But it's just as you said—it's my first time running something like this... So, I'm still trying to adapt.
You: Especially the accounting... I can't say that I fully understand all of the spreadsheets and data... So...
Artem: I see...
Artem: I happen to be in charge of the financial investment department at the Yingxing Trading Company. Hence, I am quite talented at accounting.
Artem: If you need help and have the time, I can help you iron things out.
You: Okay, thank you, Consultant Wing.
Interpreter Richter's situation
You: Interpreter Richter, can I ask you about Xuzhou University?
Vyn: Of course. I never would have imagined that you would be interested in the school that I teach at, Little Boss.
You: I wouldn't say that I'm interested in the actual school. I'm just curious about what you teach there, Interpreter Richter.
Vyn: So, you actually wanted to ask about me...
Vyn: I teach literature studies at Xuzhou University. I select an established piece every semester to research with the students...
You: Literature studies... That sounds really deep.
Vyn: That is the reaction I often get whenever I talk about the subject I teach...
Vyn: But it is actually not that hard to understand. Just imagine my classes as... making friends with the words in books.
You: Making friends with the words? It does sound pretty interesting if you put it that way.
Vyn: The children at the relief hospital were the ones that came up with that idea. It looks to be very effective.
You: You know the kids from the relief hospital?
Vyn: Yes. I visit them occasionally when I am not teaching, and I also prepare gifts for them when I have the time.
You: You really are a kind person, Interpreter Richter.
Vyn: You flatter me. I only go there on occasion. I have barely spoken to a few of the kids. I am actually not that familiar with the people working at the relief hospital.
Vyn: So... I would not say that qualifies as being "kind."
You: You're being too modest. That's already way more than what most people have done.
Interpreter Richter's Question
Vyn: Little Boss, do you have a moment?
You: What is it, Interpreter Richter?
Vyn: I was just thinking... You arrived at Xuzhou Town not too long ago, so there must be a lot of places you have not been to yet...
Vyn: So, I was wondering if you would like to go take a look at Xuzhou University when you are free.
Vyn: Our school is considered one of the landmarks of the town.
You: If I go... Would you be willing to be my guide, Interpreter Richter?
Vyn: Of course.
You: Brilliant! Let me finish my work at the hotel, and we can go once I'm free.
Vyn: Okay, I look forward to it.
President von Hagen's situation
You: President von Hagen, I want to talk to you about the Association.
Marius: Oh? Is the Little Boss is interested in doing business?
You: Not exactly... I'm just curious about what industries in Xuzhou the Association is involved in.
Marius: Well... That would make for a very long conversation.
Marius: The smaller operations include shops and bars, and the larger ones involve schools and hospitals... You can expect the Association to be involved in any and all vital industries.
You: (Wow, that's basically Pax, isn't it?)
You: That's amazing... The influence of the Association is nothing to scoff at.
Marius: It's all right, I guess. Although, it can get pretty hectic to look after with all the different industries involved...
Marius: Especially the old geezers in the Association... Sometimes, they think they don't have to listen to me just because they're older.
[Obtain Intel: President von Hagen > Troublesome matters]
You: (That sounds exactly like Pax as well... Could this character be tailored for Marius...?)
President von Hagen's Question
Marius: So, Little Boss, now that you've been in Xuzhou for a few days, what do you think of the place?
You: I can't really say, to be honest...
Marius: Oh?
You: After all, I've been busy with the Li Hotel the whole time. I haven't had any time or mood to go out and walk around...
Marius: You have a point. I didn't quite think this through.
Marius: Hmm... How about this? When you have more free time on your hands, I'll show you around Xuzhou Town.
Marius: I'll show you all the best food and attractions in the town.
You: Okay, thank you, President von Hagen.
