Wait for night time to progress the story.

In the evening, you lean on the couch in the lounge area, looking over the crime scene photos you had taken earlier.

Every photo shows the scene of the dining carriage after the crime, as well as the chaos that ensued.

You: Judging by the mess on the table, Dennis must have overturned the plate in a fit of rage.

From different angles, every picture is cluttered.

Except for one.

You: These are the glasses that Dennis and the others used, right?

There are four crystal glasses in the photo.

One of the glasses is knocked over, soaking the tablecloth with wine.

There are traces of wine at the sides of two other glasses, which had clearly been put down by the drinkers in a hurry.

However, something about the lone glass at the edge of the table strikes you as odd.

It is weirdly clean in the mayhem of glasses and dishes.

You: (Nobody drank from this glass...?)

Luke: What's got you so lost in thought?

You look up to see Luke standing before you, a look of concern on his face.

You: I was just looking over the scene photos I took earlier, hoping that I might find clues.

You: Luke, look at this wine glass. I think...

Artem: What's wrong with that wine glass?

Artem's voice comes out of nowhere, and...

Only then do you realize everyone had gathered in the lounge area, with their gazes focused on you.

You: Why are you all here?

Marius: We're all concerned about you.

Marius: Besides... it's getting late, and it's almost time for us to act.

The plan is for everyone to wait until the night fog rises again, which is when the "shadows" are said to appear due to natural changes...

Then everyone will look around the carriages for any abnormalities.

You: Oh no, I forgot about the time.

Vyn: Worry not, the fog is just picking up. We have sufficient time to discuss our findings about the wine glass before we move out.

You: Yeah... then take a look at this picture... Doesn't this wine glass look untouched?

Tapping on the tablet screen, you zoom in on the photo and point to the particularly clean glass.

Artem: Indeed, a used glass should have some residual wine on the side.

Artem: But the rim of the glass in the photo is clean, which means someone must have poured it and left it there.

You: Yeah, I think so too...

You: Dennis' cause of death was accidental ingestion of phenobarbital, which, when combined with alcohol, triggered an allergic reaction.

You: Our theory is that the killer must have mixed it into his food.

You: But when Luke tested the food and alcohol on the dining table, nothing unusual was discovered.

You: So, could it be possible that...

You: Someone switched out the drugged wine so that we couldn't find anything?

Artem: I asked the conductor if anyone had approached the table after the incident.

Artem: The conductor insisted no one had, because they had cleared the carriage of passengers to maintain order.

Artem: So the table was left in the same condition it was when the incident happened.

Luke: You mean... theoretically, it's unlikely that anyone would change the wine glass after the fact?

Marius: Is it safe to assume that at the same time as the incident, someone took advantage of the chaos to replace the wine glass?

You: If that's the assumption... it would only be possible for someone at the table to replace the wine glass...

Yann Kahn

You: Currently, the biggest suspect is Yann Kahn.

Artem: Yann Kahn is the family doctor, with medical knowledge... When it comes to drugs, it's hard for him not to be suspected.

Marius: Since the target is so obvious, do we need to consider that maybe he's a smokescreen set up by the killer?

Vyn: Whether he is a smokescreen, or a suspect himself...

Vyn: One thing is certain. Yann Kahn requires further investigation.

Luke: As it stands, he is the biggest suspect... but we also need to keep an eye on Dr. Ronson.

Luke: He... seems to hiding a lot of secrets.

You: I agree.

Ronson

You: Could it have been Dr. Ronson?

You: Ever since we boarded the Mobius, his attitude toward us has been strange.

Marius: Yeah, that man has been strange.

Luke: Aside from repeatedly telling Emmy not to approach us, he is also elusive when it comes to answering our questions...

Luke: From that alone, he is obviously trying to hide something.

Artem: I confirmed with the conductor earlier. Dr. Ronson was sitting beside Dennis when the incident happened.

Vyn: Oh? If he was sitting there, then... it would not be difficult to tamper with the wine glass.

Artem: Yes, Dr. Ronson... is worth investigating.

Marius: Of course, Yann Kahn is not cleared of suspicion either. After all, he is the family doctor.

You: Yeah, he is clearly suspicious... I believe we can investigate both of them at the same time.

Compared to the initial confusion, all of you have now obtained some clues.

But following the clues only leads to more and more mysteries.

Just as you are all about to go into the details...

Marius: Hmm...? I hear something.

You: What?

Marius points outside the carriage, and mouths "listen."

You: There's some sort of rustling sound.

Luke: Almost like... something is being dragged along the ground.

Artem: Let's go take a look.

Artem pushes open the carriage door.

Head deep into the night fog and investigate the anomaly changes.

Outside the carriage is the long and silent corridor illuminated by the dark night.

Night comes with a darkness that envelops the corridor in a night fog, which had once been driven away by the sun.

Faint shadows hide in it... inviting others to explore its depths.

You: Can't say I'm happy to think that I'm getting used to this kind of paranormal phenomenon.

Luke: Looking at it from another perspective, wouldn't you say it's kind of an amazing experience?

Vyn: That is not something to be happy about.

Vyn: It will be difficult to spot subtle changes if we get used to such phenomenons.

Marius: Don't be so pessimistic. Maybe what we're looking for has already turned up.

Artem: Yes. Hopefully, we will find the shadow we've been searching for tonight...

Wait for night time to progress the story.

Passengers and crew members, perhaps having grown accustomed, are numb to the strange phenomena produced by the night fog.

No matter what happens in the corridor, everybody is no longer surprised, unlike what happened the first time around.

The corridor is completely empty except for the sound of everyone's shoes rubbing on the soft carpet.

You: Strange... The sound stopped. Are we just hearing things...?

Marius: No, I heard it in the corridor as well.

Vyn: Indeed. I heard it earlier as well...

Luke: Why don't we keep going?

As everyone hesitates, Artem raises his hand and points to the shadows ahead of him in the corridor.

Artem: No, it's right there.

You: !!!

The space ahead where the dim light doesn't shine is pitch black, as if it's immersed in a deep pool.

In the darkness, however, is something. It gleams white, forming a distinct human shape.

Female Shadow: I... I don't agree... plan...

Female Shadow: Element T should not be used in such a dangerous way...

Female Shadow: Sorry, I must... hand it over to...

From this distance, you cannot see her clearly unlike the previous time in the exhibition room.

But the same chill that you felt back then is hard to forget.

You: Sh... She's talking?

Luke: Am I hearing things? I heard a voice.

Artem: I heard her clearly. She just mentioned Element T.

Vyn: Element T? That proves Dr. Ronson right. He saw Hill.

Marius: How does that work? Could it... really be a ghost?

You: I don't know, but...

Driven by your instinctive curiosity, you make what is perhaps your most impulsive and daring decision to date.

You: I want to see what she really is.

You take a huge step toward the shadow.

Vyn: [Player]!?

Artem: Watch out!

Marius: Don't go over there!

Hearing their attempts to stop you, you step forward only for your arm to be yanked back. Luke now stands before you.

Luke: Don't be rash. What if there's...

Before he can finish, the anxious look on his face abruptly hardens.

At that moment, a bright light pierces the night and fills the long corridor.

You: ...

After a flash of light, weirder figures appear in the place of the white shadows...

Artem: [Player], are you okay?

Luke: Do your eyes hurt?

You: No, they are fine.

Vyn: You need to adjust to the light.

Luke: Leave the adventurous stuff to me.

Luke gently covers your eyes with his hand, preventing the light from hurting your eyes again.

You: It's fine, I'm feeling much better now...

People act like that sometimes. After the tide of emotions subsides, only frustration follows.

You can't explain what you just did. Maybe it was out of frustration, or maybe...

You were simply fascinated by the strange phenomenon in front of you and wanted to learn more about it.

You: ...Sorry, that was rash of me.

Marius: Well, I can't blame you. I almost ran over to check it out myself too.

Luke: Shh...

You: What?

Luke: I see someone. I really see someone this time.

Luke points to the shadow at the end of the corridor.

Where the strange shadow once was is a flash of someone actually sneaking around.

Marius: Someone is sneaking around. I bet they are up to no good.

Vyn: How about we check it out?

You: I'm in.

[Observation tracking event]

You: ...Eh? He went into the utility room!?

After watching for some time, the man slips into the small remote utility room.

After a while, you can hear people inside having a quiet conversation inside.

Hushed voices can be faintly heard in the silent carriage.

???: Hey, why did you call me here?

???: There's no one around. We can talk.

You: (Those voices... Dr. Ronson and Yann Kahn?)

You: (Why are they talking here in the middle of the night? Why not talk in the Kahn Corporation carriage?)

You: (Is the subject matter... privy to only them, and not the entire Kahn Corporation?)

You: Should we get closer?

This time, you look back cautiously at everyone. They nod in unison.

After reaching an understanding, everyone prepares to move closer to the utility room.

However, before that happens, Luke suddenly stops.

You: What's wrong?

Luke: Isn't it strange? We were guided by a strange sound, following eerie shadows in the night fog...

Luke: Then our attention was suddenly interrupted by a bright light and drawn to the utility room.

Luke: Hasn't this process been too smooth?

Marius: Yeah, it seems... that "guy" is deliberately guiding us to the utility room.

You: ...!?

A chill runs through your heart.

Who could that "guy" be?

Dr. Ronson and Yann Kang are meeting in the storage room. Eavesdrop on their conversation.

The soft carpet of the corridors provides the best cover.

Through the darkness, you and the others carefully approach the utility room.

Perhaps the person inside had been careless, or maybe they were afraid of drawing attention to the sound of a door closing...

The door of the utility room is ajar, and despite the limited view, it is possible to more or less see what is happening inside.

Dr. Ronson: I saw her! I saw Hill again!

Dr. Ronson: Just now, on the way here... Sh-She was standing in the corridor smiling at me...

Dr. Ronson: I think she's trying to get revenge. She's back with a vengeance!

Yann Kahn: Dr. Ronson, please calm down.

Yann Kahn: Do you know what you're saying? Is that what an accomplished researcher should say!?

Yann Kahn seems much calmer in the face of Dr. Ronson's desperately held-together but hysterical appearance

Yann Kahn snorts dismissively.

Yann Kahn: If you're calling me out for this nonsense...

Yann Kahn: I would advise you to get back to the job you need to complete and focus on it!

Dr. Ronson: But I can't focus on work at all!

Dr. Ronson: I've had enough of this life. I'll go crazy if I have to stay on this train for another day! *cough*...

Dr. Ronson: *Cough, cough*... *Cough*...

The heated conversation seems to leave Dr. Ronson in a coughing frenzy.

The coughs break his rhythm, which gives Yann Kahn the chance to jump in.

Yann Kahn: Enough, Ronson Fritz!!! Are you hearing yourself!?

Yann Kahn raises his voice in a fit of anger.

Yann Kahn: If you can't crack the code she left behind and acquire the key before reaching Ginnungagap Island, you know the consequences!

Yann Kahn: What are we going to tell the big shots on Ginnungagap Island?

Yann Kahn: Kahn Corporation has lost Mark, and two cooperative partners, Dennis and Ernst...

Yann Kahn: It won't be easy to explain if we don't do something before we arrive at Ginnungagap Island.

Dr. Ronson: I know, of course, but...

Yann Kahn: No buts — do what you have to do. That's all.

Dr. Ronson takes a deep breath, as if to suppress his emotions.

Dr. Ronson: Yes, I'll do what I have to.

Dr. Ronson: Yang, I know you have something on me. But don't forget that... I'm well aware of what you've done in the past.

Dr. Ronson: I just want to get what I deserve when this train reaches its destination. That's all.

Yann Kahn stares into Dr. Ronson's eyes and smiles meaningfully.

Yann Kahn: Best hope so.

...

Later, Yann Kahn and Dr. Ronson have another discussion about something.

But this time, their voices are too soft to hear through the open door.

To avoid attracting attention by staying in one place for too long, you and the others quietly sneak away.

You: Hmm?

As soon as you turn around, you spot a flash out of the corner of your eye.

But when you look closer, you find that the corridor is empty.

You: Is it another illusion? Or...
