Exhibition Room
The doctor is looking for you. Go find him.
Dr. Miller: Miss [Player], you're here.
You: You asked to see me so late. Is it something urgent, Dr. Miller?
Dr. Miller: Yes, well, a passenger told me she encountered something strange on her way back to her carriage.
Dr. Miller: When I asked her what happened, she couldn't say, only that it was different from usual...
You: Something strange and different from usual?
Dr. Miller: Yes, combine that with what happened recently... I think this may be connected to the crystals.
Dr. Miller: So I must ask for your help in understanding the situation.
You: No problem. Leave it to me.
Dr. Miller: But, given how late it is, it would make me feel better if you had someone accompanying you.
You: All right.
Corridor of the Luxury Suites
Check out what's happening at the luxury carriage.
When you arrive at the corridor, you see a familiar figure—Vyn.
Beside him is a woman trembling all over...
Vyn: [Player]?
You: Dr. Richter, what are you doing here? And what... happened to that woman?
The woman before you is pale as a ghost, clearly frightened. Hearing your question, Vyn sighs.
Vyn: My carriage felt suffocating, so I came out for fresh air...
Vyn: I noticed this woman looking unwell and came over...
Before Vyn can finish, the woman grabs your hand.
Woman: I d-don't dare go back on my own... There's something strange.
You: (Something strange? Could she be...?)
You explain to them your conversation with Dr. Miller in the exhibition. After hearing your story, the woman nods.
Woman: Y-Yeah... I'm the one who went to find Dr. Miller...
Woman: *Sobs* I shouldn't have left my room tonight... But I lost track of time when I was chatting with my friends... I...
You: ...
Vyn: ...
After a few seconds of silence, you and Vyn exchange a glance.
Vyn: Miss, please calm down. We will escort you back.
You: If something strange happens... we'll be with you to assure your safety.
Woman: Yeah... I... Thank you.
At this moment, the lights in the corridor begin to flicker.
Woman: Look over there... Did it appear again!?
Woman: The strange phenomenon...
Vyn: Stay calm. We will have a closer look.
You: Strange phenomenon indeed...
Woman: *Sobs*... I don't dare take another step. What if I bump into it...?
With that, the woman grabs the curtains beside her, refusing the move.
Vyn: Fear not. How about [Player] and I walk ahead of you?
Vyn: The hour is late. Stay here any longer and you might encounter even more anomalies...
Vyn's words seem to strike a note in the woman's heart. She bites her lip and nods quickly.
Woman: You're right... let's go.
You: Are my eyes playing tricks on me?
Vyn: Do not worry. Take a closer look.
You: Yeah.
You: See, we're doing just fine.
You: We're almost to your room.
Woman: Yeah... It isn't that scary.
Woman: But can you guys take another look? I'm afraid to bump into them...
Vyn: As you wish.
You: There are still some unusual phenomena...
Woman: No... I'm too scared to walk...
Before you and Vyn can comfort the woman, something seems to be happening in the corridor.
You: Eh? Did I miss something?
Vyn: We should take a closer look.
You: Sure.
Woman: Ahhh! Look over there, are there more crystals in the corridor...?
You: Don't worry, we'll take a look.
Vyn: Leave it to us. You should rest.
Vyn: I remember the room was originally decorated with flower druses, but now it is all crystal ornaments...
You: This... isn't our imagination.
Vyn: We cannot rule out the possibility of hallucinogens, but...
Vyn: Given the current conditions on the train, it is possible that, as Dr. Miller said, the crystals are causing environmental changes.
You: Anyway, the most important thing is to reassure the passengers on the train.
You: That woman...
Vyn looks up, his eyes falling on the trembling woman in the corner.
She seems frightened by the anomalies before her.
You: It seems she won't calm down until the strange phenomena disappear.
Vyn: Yes...
Vyn nods, thinking for a moment.
Vyn: I will keep her company and escort her back to her room.
Vyn: You should inform Dr. Miller of what happened in the corridor.
Vyn: It would be better if Dr. Miller could find out the reason for these anomalies.
You: Thanks, Dr. Richter.
You: Did I miss crystals somewhere?
Vyn: Worry not. We should look carefully.
You: But why is this happening in the corridor?
You: I hope Dr. Miller can come up with a solution soon.
Corridor of the Passenger Carriage
A strange figure has appeared. Check it out.
You: ...Another shadow here!?
The faint shadow repeats the same puzzling words as before.
???: Crystals will remember...
???: ...All the stories... all the evil...
???: Under the glow... beyond the moonlight...
You: Stories... evil?
You: It's getting harder and harder to understand.
The shadow repeats itself several more times, then becomes more and more transparent, as if disappearing.
You: I should find Dr. Miller.
Tell the doctor about the strange phenomenon.
Dr. Miller: Miss [Player], you're back. How are things in the corridor?
You: Not good... I ran into that passenger on my way over there...
For the next half hour, you tell Dr. Miller everything that happened in the corridors.
Dr. Miller: It's not a good thing when anomalies appear in multiple places.
Dr. Miller: It seems that in addition to the presence of shadows, there are other strange anomalies that should be noted.
You: Were they... all caused by the crystals?
Doubt brews inside you as you think back to what Dr. Miller said before.
Dr. Miller strokes his chin with a helpless look on his face.
Dr. Miller: I said before that it is theoretically possible for an electronic device to change the ore magnetic field and influence a person's perception...
Dr. Miller: Bakerlon crystals are a type of mineral that naturally have such characteristics.
Dr. Miller: And the situations you've encountered are similar to the perceptual changes that happen when the magnetic field changes.
Dr. Miller: Having said that... I must analyze the situations separately, so I am unable to give you an accurate answer at this moment.
You: That makes sense. How can something so complicated be sorted out so quickly...
Dr. Miller: Well, it's getting late. Miss [Player], you should get some rest.
Dr. Miller: I will inform you of any progress.
You: You too, doctor. You should get some rest!
