The doctor seems troubled. Ask him about it.

You: Dr. Miller, is something bothering you? You seem troubled...

Dr. Miller: Miss [Player], you're right. There is one thing bothering me.

Dr. Miller: Recently, a passenger donated a book of authentic notes related to Bakerlon crystals, and I put it on display in the exhibition.

Dr. Miller: But when I came to check on it today, it was gone.

You: Really!? Did you check the surveillance footage?

Dr. Miller: Yes, a crew member did. It was taken away by a female passenger in a hat.

You: In that case, why don't you go ask that passenger?

Hearing your question, Dr. Miller shakes his head.

Dr. Miller: From the surveillance footage, the passenger was very natural in taking the notes, almost like they belonged to her.

Dr. Miller: So I can't tell if she meant to take them... or if she did it by accident.

Dr. Miller: If she took them by accident and found herself surrounded by crew members and myself...

Dr. Miller pauses with hesitation, and you understand his concern.

You: I understand. I'll go talk to that passenger for you.

Hearing this, Dr. Miller's tense eyebrows relax a bit.

Dr. Miller: It's nice that you're here to help. The passenger was walking toward the dining carriage.

You: Okay, leave it to me.

Find out if that passenger took the notes on purpose.

Artem: ...It's better to eat something plain. She might not like the way Bakerlon food tastes.

Luke: But she hasn't been herself lately. She needs to replenish her energy.

Upon entering the dining carriage, you see Artem and Luke at the bar discussing something.

You: Luke, Mr. Wing? What are you two doing here?

Artem: We...

Luke: Nothing, just talking about the meals on the train.

Luke: How about you? Are you here for afternoon tea?

You: No, I'm here to see the passenger who took the authentic notes from the exhibition.

Luke: She took the authentic notes?

Artem: A passenger from the exhibition...

You tell Artem and Luke everything that happened in detail.

Artem: I see...

Artem: In that case, we won't keep you.

Artem: I'll be resting at the dining carriage. Feel free to come find me if you get tired.

Luke: I'll be at the exhibition. Come have a chat if you're free.

You: I will.

[Begin Observation Event]

Passenger: These notes are wonderful...

Passenger: I want to read them all in one sitting!

Passenger: Strange, I thought I was in the showroom...

Passenger: In the early days of mining for crystals,

Passenger: There were many obstacles...

Passenger: Some said that mining crystals would pollute the water supply...

Passenger: And affect the people's livelihood...

Passenger: Yeah... Let me take a look!

Passenger: The characteristics of pink crystals?

Passenger: Eh? I can't read the notes here...

Passenger: Could it be pollution from the past!?

Passenger: Let's check out what's in the showcase.

Passenger: Nice texture...

Passenger: It's been a very rewarding day.

Passenger: "Bakerlon crystal clusters have the highest appreciation value."

Passenger: Yeah, that's right! This speaks to my heart!

Passenger: Who wouldn't love shiny crystal-adorned accessories?

Passenger: Eh!?

Passenger: This notebook should be in the showcase.

Passenger: Why did I take it with me?

Passenger: Oh no... I was too fascinated by it.

Passenger: I have to return it quickly!

Passenger: Yeah... After I'm done reading it though!

[End Observation Event]

You: This passenger doesn't bear any ill will. I should tell Dr. Miller.

Exhibition Room: Lost Notes (3)

Tell the doctor that passenger didn't take the notes on purpose.

Dr. Miller: Miss [Player], you're back!

Dr. Miller: So, what did the passenger say?

You: Don't worry, Dr. Miller. She was too fascinated with the authentic notes and left with them by mistake.

You: She said she will return them once she's done reading them.

Dr. Miller lets out a long sigh, his expression much more relaxed than before.

Dr. Miller: That's great news. Otherwise, I wouldn't know what to do.

You: By the way, that passenger mentioned that there was a lot of resistance in the early stages of mining Bakerlon crystals...

You: Is she talking about what the Kahn family encountered one hundred years ago?

Hearing your question, Dr. Miller smiles mysteriously.

Dr. Miller: That's right. Part of the information is recorded in the notes, but not all of it.

Dr. Miller: What happened to the Kahn family was a bit more complicated than the notes suggest.

You: Eh? Then... can you tell me?

Dr. Miller: Of course. You've helped me so much. It's the least I can do.

Then, all of a sudden, Dr. Miller lowers his voice.

Dr. Miller: In the beginning, people didn't really know much about Bakerlon crystals, so they were skeptical when the Kahn family announced their mining plans.

Dr. Miller: It's normal to have initial concerns and doubts.

Dr. Miller: But over time, other families who were at odds with the Kahn family got involved...

Dr. Miller: They would spread rumors in an attempt to thwart their Bakerlon crystal mining operations.

Dr. Miller: The Kahn family tried everything to make things right.

Dr. Miller: And those opposing forces gradually disappeared.

You: I didn't know there was such a story...

You: Understood. Thanks, Dr. Miller.
