The doctor seems troubled. Ask him about it.

Dr. Miller: Oh my... how could this happen?

You: What's wrong, Dr. Miller? You don't look so good.

Dr. Miller: Miss [Player], I'm sorry you have to see me like this, but I... encountered a problem.

Dr. Miller: This afternoon, I had a researcher from the Royal Institution of Bakerlon visit the exhibition...

Dr. Miller: And I lent him four precious Bakerlon crystals... But the researcher just informed me that they're missing.

You: ...Eh? Were they misplaced? Or did someone take them?

Dr. Miller: I'm not certain. Everything happened so fast. I already notified the conductor of this matter so he can begin a search of the carriages...

Dr. Miller: If that doesn't yield any results, we may have to consider the possibility of theft.

You: You're right. Passengers who boarded the Mobius are all respected individuals...

You: The presumption of theft would not only cast doubt on the Mobius' security—it would also provoke resentment.

Dr. Miller: Indeed, which is why the researcher and I are splitting up to check the places visited to see if we can find anything.

You: Dr. Miller, you're still at the exhibition at this hour...

You: Is there anything I can do to help?

Dr. Miller: That's very kind of you, Miss [Player]. If you don't mind, could you accompany the researcher to the guest carriages?

Dr. Miller: He wasn't looking so hot when he came to see me, and I think it would help if he had someone with him.

You: Understood. I can't imagine what he's going through... with the precious crystals he borrowed having gone missing.

You: The guest carriages, right?

Dr. Miller: Yeah, after he left the exhibition, he was tasked by the institute to visit many passengers...

Dr. Miller: So he might have dropped the crystals in one of the passengers' rooms.

Dr. Miller: The conductor has informed the passengers of the situation, so don't worry.

You: Understood. I'll head over now.

Check on the researcher.

When you reach a corridor, you see a young man looking very upset.

You: (That man looks upset... and has some sort of nameplate on his chest...)

You: (He must be the researcher.)

You walk forward and gently tap his shoulder.

You: Hello, are you the researcher from Royal Institution of Bakerlon?

Researcher: Yes, you are...?

After explaining who you are and what Dr. Miller told you, the researcher looks like he's met his savior.

Researcher: Oh, thank goodness you're here, Miss [Player].

Researcher: When I realized the crystals had gone missing, my vision went dark and my legs went numb... I couldn't find it in me to do anything.

Researcher: I can't believe this happened on my first business trip. If those Bakerlon crystals are really gone...

Researcher: I-I don't think I can show my face around in the institute ever again *sobs*...

You: (He is... extremely stressed right now. I should comfort him first...)

You: You don't have to worry too much. Maybe you just left them somewhere by accident. I'm sure we'll find them soon.

Researcher: I hope so...

After some pleasantries, you and the researcher enter the first carriage.

You: Speaking of which, have you checked this room already?

Researcher: No... I was too busy worrying. Let's check it now.

You: All right.

Right answer (By the bed)

Researcher: !!!

Researcher: I can't believe we found something, even though it's only one piece... But it's a good start.

You: So... you left this white Bakerlon crystal here by accident when you were visiting a passenger?

Researcher: I think so. I remember the passenger liked crystals, so I showed it to her. Maybe it was then that I... Never mind, that's all in the past.

You: Yeah, what matters is we found it.

You: Upon closer inspection, the glow of the white crystal is breathtaking...

Researcher: This is called a White Bakerlon Crystal, which was the first type of Bakerlon crystal to be discovered.

Researcher: And because white crystals look holy, people in the past once called it "The Gifted Crystal."

You: I didn't know that!

Researcher: Yeah, I'll tell you more in detail sometime.

You: Sure, onward to the next guest carriage.

Wrong answer

You: Is this the wrong spot?

You: I need to take a closer look.

Researcher: O heaven... please help me find the three other Bakerlon crystals quickly.

You: (Now that we're in a different room, he seems to be getting nervous...)

You: Why don't we look around the room first? It might be the same as before.

Researcher: Y-You're right. Can I trouble you with that? My mind is a bit of a mess right now, and I need to catch my breath.

You: Okay.

Right answer (Below the armchair)

Researcher: We found another piece! Woohoo!

Researcher: But... how did I leave it here...?

Researcher: Forget it. The reason's not important. What matters is we found the purple crystal.

You: Purple crystal?

Researcher: Yeah, it's purple all over, so it's called a Purple Bakerlon Crystal. Isn't that easy to remember?

You: So the crystals are differentiated by color. Yeah, I guess that makes sense.

You: But it looks very different from the white crystal...

Researcher: Yes, when the Purple Bakerlon Crystal was first discovered, people thought it was an entirely new mineral.

Researcher: But elemental analysis and expert studies have determined that they are in fact the same substance, just in different forms.

Researcher: However, compared to the white crystals, the purple crystals were never quite popular in the market until more recently.

You: Why is that?

Researcher: Well, the higher the purity, the more purplish red it will become.

Researcher: And in the oldest traditions of Bakerlon, purplish red was a symbol of evil...

Researcher: Imagine, if you will... A hundred years ago in the middle of the night, you see a stone glowing eerily...

You: S-Stop... I get it.

Researcher: Well, good. Let's hurry to the next carriage.

Wrong answer

You: Not here? Did I miss something?

You: Hmm... I need to take a closer look.

You: I wonder if we'll find the other crystals in this room...

Researcher: I hope so... Let's look around. Maybe we'll find something.

You: All right.

Right answer (By the bedside lamp)

You: I'm glad we found another piece... but why does it feel like this is "as expected"?

Researcher: Well, I... I may have been telling a passenger the story of Blue Bakerlon Crystals when I accidentally...

Researcher: Hey! Don't worry about the details! At least we were able to retrieve it.

You: (He's right. At least we were able to retrieve it.)

You: The color of the Blue Bakerlon Crystal is beautiful... it looks just like the ocean.

Researcher: Yes, yes, it is for this reason that many crafts made with blue crystals are designed in the shape of water droplets.

Researcher: However, compared to the other Bakerlon crystals, the blue crystals have many more uses in manufacturing.

You: Eh, why? Aren't they all made of the same material?

Researcher: Well, it depends on the color.

Researcher: The light of the Blue Bakerlon Crystal is soft and distinct, which makes it suitable for use in night operation equipment...

You: Hmm... I understand.

Researcher: There's more to the blue crystals than that, but I'll save that story for another time.

Researcher: Let's hurry over to the next room.

Wrong answer

You: I saw something flashing just now... Was that my imagination?

You: I need to take a closer look.

You: I have a strong feeling that we'll find the last Bakerlon crystal here.

Researcher: To tell you the truth, I feel the same way.

Researcher: Well... In any case, let's look around.

Right answer (By the bed)

The researcher's eyes turn a little red after finding the last Bakerlon crystal...

Researcher: Whew, it feels great to retrieve all of them.

Researcher: But how could I have been so careless as to leave these precious crystals in the passengers' carriages...

Not to make excuses for the researcher, but by the look on his face right now, he could use some reassurance.

You: Maybe... you were too nervous.

You: Not only is it your first business trip, but you had to handle priceless items and meet powerful individuals... so...

Researcher: ...

Researcher: Thank you, Miss [Player]. *Sobs* I know everything is my fault, and not only did you help me find the crystals, but you also comfort me...

Researcher: You're a good person *sobs*...

You: It was my pleasure.

You: It's already late, so you should get some rest. I'll tell Dr. Miller that the crystals have been found.

Researcher: Yeah... thank you very much.

Wrong answer

You: Not here? Did I miss something?

You: I need to take a closer look.

You: I didn't expect the researcher to be a crybaby...

You: Anyway, the problem has been solved without a hitch! I'll inform Dr. Miller about our progress.

Corridor of the Passenger Carriage: Lost Crystals (3)

The figure that appeared seems to know how to speak. Listen to what it has to say.

You: Is that... a shadow?

As you leave the carriages and head over to the exhibition to find Dr. Miller, you spot a faint shadow in the corridor by the window.

You rub your eyes, worried that it might be your imagination. At that moment, the half-transparent shadow speaks.

???: Crystal.... memory of life...

???: ...Prosperity fades... Repeat...

???: ...Ah... the years...

You: What is it saying? And... why is this happening...

The faint shadow looks eerie in the night, but this is completely different from the ghosts in horror movies...

It only stands in place, mechanically repeating the same thing over and over again.

It feels like a broken record player that's stuck playing the same broken sounds.

You: It's not speaking anymore, so I can't get any more information. Oh well...

After stopping for a few minutes, you decide to tell Dr. Miller about the retrieved crystals.

Exhibition Room: Lost Crystals (4)

Tell the doctor about the situation.

You: Dr. Miller!

Dr. Miller: Miss [Player], you're back. How did things go?

Dr. Miller: I searched the exhibition several times and didn't find the Bakerlon crystals lent to the researcher...

Dr. Miller sighs, looking very anxious.

You: Don't worry, Dr. Miller. The crystals have all been found...

You explain to Dr. Miller what happened, and Dr. Miller lets out a long sigh.

Dr. Miller: I'm glad you retrieved them. They were part of my private collection. If they were lost, it would...

Dr. Miller: Well, none of that matters now. Thank you, Miss [Player], for helping the researcher in the search.

You: Of course, glad I could help!

Dr. Miller: Yeah, you should go get some rest.

Dr. Miller: As for the "shadow" you mentioned... I'll keep an eye out for the strange phenomenon.

You: Sure!
