Ask the doctor about the crystals.

You: Dr. Miller, are you free right now? I want to talk to you about crystals.

Dr. Miller: Of course...

Before Dr. Miller can finish, a crew member rushes over to him, whispering something into his ear.

After the crew member leaves, Dr. Miller has a look of helplessness and regret on his face.

Dr. Miller: My sincerest apologies, Miss [Player]. The conductor needs me for something, so I won't be able to chat with you...

You: I see... Well, I'll come back some other time then.

Dr. Miller: However, an ore enthusiast friend of mine is also aboard this train. You can talk to him.

Dr. Miller: He is just as knowledgeable about Bakerlon crystals as I am. I'm sure he will be able to help you.

You: That's great.

Dr. Miller: His name is Addams. He's a college professor that likes to wear dark hats.

Dr. Miller: Hmm... he should be resting in the dining carriage about this time.

Dr. Miller: Oh, and one more thing—Addams has an odd temper. He likes to ask questions to spite people.

Dr. Miller: You'd best bring a friend with you, just in case.

You: Understood. Thanks, Dr. Miller.

Dr. Miller: My pleasure. Well, I must go find the conductor now.

Find and talk with Addams.

At the dining carriage bar, you have a chance encounter with Artem, who appears to be leaving.

You: Mr. Wing? Did you just finish your meal and are heading back to rest?

Artem: No, I was going to ask about tonight's menu.

Artem: And you? Were you going to try the afternoon tea?

You: I'm going to ask Mr. Addams about Bakerlon crystals.

Artem: Mr. Addams?

You: Well...

You tell Artem exactly what Dr. Miller said.

Artem: I see. I'll accompany you. I can ask about tonight's menu later.

You: Sure, with you here, I'm sure we'll be able to answer any questions.

After asking a crew member, the two of you find the table where Mr. Addams is.

When you mention Dr. Miller to Mr. Addams, he seems surprised.

Addams: I can't believe Miller sent you...

You: Yeah, Dr. Miller said you are just as knowledgeable about Bakerlon Druse as he is, and you'll be able to help me.

Addams: Is that so... Well, then let me test you all.

Addams: If you guys are unable to answer my questions, I won't tell you anything about the crystals.

Artem: No problem. Shoot your questions.

Addams: Since we're on this train, I'll ask you about it.

Addams: Ahem. First... how many ladies are wearing hats in the dining carriage?

Right answer (4)

You: That question is too easy for us.

Addams: Fine, fine, since you got it right, I can tell you something.

Addams: A fisherman stumbled upon the Bakerlon crystals... a hundred years before the Kahn family ever found them.

Addams: However, the fisherman didn't know what he discovered and thought it was a common rock.

Artem: A fisherman?

You: Aren't these crystals found in the Myerson Mountains? Why were there fishermen?

Addams: Intriguing, right? You'll have to answer my next question correctly to find out!

You: ...

You: Fine.

Wrong answer

You: I got it wrong...

Artem: Don't worry. Let's take a closer look.

You: Sure!

Addams: Let's see if you can get the right answer this time.

Artem: Yes, we will.

You: Correct!

Addams: Haha, I love confident people like you. How many pots of flowers are there in the dining carriage?

Right answer (5)

You: Correct! Now I can find out why the Bakerlon crystals were first discovered by a fisherman.

Addams: Not bad, I have a newfound respect for you.

Addams: The reason why it was first discovered by a fisherman... is because of Myerson Mountains' geographical structure.

Addams: The fisherman was out at sea catching fish when he encountered a storm...

Addams: He woke up in a cavern... and realized he had drifted along the underground water of the Myerson Mountains.

Addams: It was there that he discovered the Bakerlon crystals.

You: Is that a true story...? It sounds a bit far-fetched.

Artem: He survived a storm and found the crystals...

Artem: Based on probability, the odds of that are fairly low.

Addams: Well, that's for you to decide.

Addams: But if you want to hear another story, you'll have to answer my next question correctly.

You: Here we go again...

Wrong answer

You: I got it wrong... Did I miss something?

Artem: Take a closer look, and the answer will come to you.

Addams: Are you ready? The question will be more difficult this time.

Artem: We won't be stumped.

Addams: Listen up—how many seats are there in the dining carriage? Make sure you count them right. It counts as a seat as long as you can sit on it.

You: So the long couch counts?

Addams: Of course.

You: Let us count...

Right answer (30)

Artem: Mr. Addams, tell us the story now.

You: Yeah, we got the right answer!

Addams: Naturally, I won't go back on my word.

Addams: The story I just told you was depicted on murals found in cave ruins somewhere in the Myerson Mountains.

Addams: The discovery of those cave ruins made headlines...

Addams: But there are rumors that the murals were "faked" by the Kahn family.

Addams: For the purpose of inciting public discussion and increasing public awareness of the Bakerlon crystals...

You: ...

Mr. Addams speaks in a low voice, telling you and Artem many wonderful old stories about the crystals.

Addams: All right, I've said enough for today. Time to get some rest.

You: Thank you, Mr. Addams.

Artem: Thanks.

Addams: It's no big deal. If you want to come to our school and study minerals, I can talk to you guys for three days and three nights.

Addams: Think about it, youngsters.

You: Okay...

Wrong answer

You: I got it wrong. Did I miscount...?

Artem: Don't be disheartened. Let's take a closer look.

You: Sure!

You: Dr. Miller described Mr. Addams as someone with an odd temper, but he seemed warm and passionate.

Artem: I feel the same way.

You: Nevertheless, I have to thank you for helping with the questions.

Artem: There's no need to be so courteous. I'm also interested in these crystals.

Artem: Well, I'll go ask about tonight's menu. See you later.

You: Sure. See you at dinner.

After watching Artem leave, you decide to tell Dr. Miller everything that just happened.

Exhibition Room: Bizarre Game (3)

You learned a lot from Addams. Tell the doctor.

You: Dr. Miller!

Dr. Miller: Miss [Player], you seem to be in a cheerful mood. Did you talk with Addams?

You: Yeah, Mr. Addams told me a lot of interesting stories about the crystals.

You: And Mr. Addams said he would recommend Mr. Wing and me to attend his school to study minerals...

Dr. Miller: Haha, he's still the same as always, trying to recruit students for his school.

Dr. Miller: But Miss [Player], I presume you didn't come looking for me to talk about Addams.

You: Yes...

You: Actually, I wanted to ask about the fisherman story...

You: Is it true? Or did the Kahn family...?

Hearing this, Dr. Miller smiles mysteriously.

Dr. Miller: I cannot give you a definite answer to that question...

Dr. Miller: Maybe on this train, you'll find out for yourself which one is the truth.
