Learn more about the crystals from Dr. Miller.

Dr. Miller: ...Yeah, it's rare to see such smooth lines in uncut raw stones.

Dr. Miller: The last time I saw one of these crystals was probably 12 years ago at the Ginnungagap Auction.

You: The formation of such a shape is probably the result of time and luck.

Dr. Miller: Yes, just like a common saying from where you're from — a gift of serendipity.

Dr. Miller: So once a natural raw stone with a unique shape appears, the rich will compete to add it to their collection.

You: I wanted to see the other raw stones... But I guess it won't be easy.

Dr. Miller: Hahaha, your intellectual curiosity deserves praise. But don't be discouraged, Miss [Player].

Dr. Miller: If you would like to learn more about the morphology of special Bakerlon crystals, I remember there's an old book called "Crystal Morphology."

Dr. Miller: The book contains information on many unique crystals, and when they were mined.

You: Really? Can I find that book on the train?

Dr. Miller: Many of the older books were put into storage.

Dr. Miller: You can go look for it if you're interested.

You: I see.

Find "Crystal Morphology" in the storage room.

Luke: ...[Player]?

You: Luke, what are you doing here?

Luke: I wanted to take advantage of the break to do a little maintenance on my devices, but I was missing some sandpaper.

Luke: A crew member told me I could find some in the utility room, so I came to look for some.

Luke: So, why are you here? Looking for something?

You: Yeah, a book called "Crystal Morphology."

You: Dr. Miller said it contains many special-looking Bakerlon crystals.

Luke: A book?

Luke: Yeah, a crew member moved the remaining books to the reading area of the dining carriage.

Luke: The rest are all dusty old magazines, which I flipped through when I was looking for something. What you're looking for isn't here.

You: Hmm... my quest for knowledge has been so difficult...

Luke: I remember seeing a crew member near the bar who seems to be in charge of books.

Luke: Maybe you can check the register to find the book.

You: Yeah, I'll go check it out now.

Luke: I'll come with you. There's no more sandpaper here, so I'll have to look elsewhere.

Find the attendant at the dining carriage to confirm the book's whereabouts.

Luke: Here, this is the register.

Luke: You're looking for "Crystal Morphology," right? Hmm... someone has already borrowed it.

You: I'm too late. That's a pity...

Luke: Hmm... Do you have any other books related to crystals?

Luke glances inquisitively at the librarian.

Librarian: Let me see... Ahh, here's one!

Librarian: We have a copy of "Tracing Mining Technology."

Librarian: This book is about the technological development of Bakerlon's process in mining Bakerlon crystals. Would you be interested in this?

You: Sure, I'll borrow this book then.

Librarian: Please sign your name on the borrowing card, and I'll go retrieve the book for you.

Librarian: Here's the copy of the "Tracing Mining Technology" you requested.

You: Thanks.

Luke: There are plenty of empty spaces by the window. Do you want to read there together?

You: All right.

Food Truck: Bakerlon's Mining History (4)

Go to the dining carriage to read the book.

Luke: Let's see what's in the book...

Luke: Hmm... the development prospects of mining technology with Bakerlon Crystals as an example, and an analysis of the Bakerlon mining industry?

Luke: Introduction to a mechanical analysis of mineral ores, mine ventilation, and safety issues...

You: There's plenty of specialized knowledge... but it seems...

Luke: It doesn't have much to do with what we're looking for in terms of knowledge about crystals...

You: We have to find a way to borrow "Crystal Morphology."

Luke: Hey, [Player], look at that woman over there. Isn't that the book on her table?

Luke suddenly taps your shoulder, pointing at a table nearby.

A woman is sitting in the lounge area, writing something. The book beside her left hand reads "Crystal Morphology."

You: !!!

Luke: C'mon, let's go ask her.

Food Truck: Bakerlon's Mining History (5)

Talk to the lady and see if she's willing to exchange books.

Walking closer, you hear the woman sigh.

Female Passenger: Oh, what will I do? How could I have been so airheaded to borrow the wrong book...

Female Passenger: How will I write my thesis without "Tracing Mining Technology"?

You: !!!

Isn't that the book you have?

You and Luke share a look of surprise.

Luke: Miss, do you need "Tracing Mining Technology"?

Female Passenger: Yes... My thesis is on the development of mining technology.

Female Passenger: Without that book... Hey, that book you have...

You: How would you like to swap books, if you don't mind?

You: I wanted to borrow "Crystal Morphology" to learn more about Bakerlon crystals.

Female Passenger: Sure, of course! That's great! Thank you kindly.

Female Passenger: By the way, are you interested in the history of Bakerlon crystals?

Female Passenger: That book is perfect for you. It has info on unique crystals, as well as many historical rumors!

You: Historical rumors?

Female Passenger: Yes, for example... over a hundred years ago...

Female Passenger: A mine containing Bakerlon crystals spewed out poisonous sewage, which caused the people in a nearby town to have nightmares.

You: The poisonous sewage... caused nightmares?

Luke: That does sound like an interesting urban legend.

Female Passenger: The rumor was never substantiated, so many people brushed it off as a story.

Female Passenger: But there's no denying that it adds a lot of spice to the book, doesn't it? I'm sure you'll find it interesting.

You: Yeah, I can't wait to read it.

You: Would you mind filling out the borrowing card? I'll bring both over to the bar.

Female Passenger: Sure, sorry to trouble you.

The female passenger signs the borrowing card for "Crystal Morphology" and passes it to you.

Luke watches as you put the two borrowing cards away, and suddenly looks at you.

Luke: Are you going to find Dr. Miller later?

You: Yeah, I'm gonna ask him about the crystals in the exhibition. Why?

Luke: Great, I need to grab some tools by the bar. Want me to take those two borrowing cards for you?

Luke: That'll save you from making a trip.

You: Sure, thanks.

Luke: No problem.

Exhibition Room: Bakerlon's Mining History (6)

Return to the showroom and talk to Dr. Miller.

You: Dr. Miller, I'm back with "Crystal Morphology."

Dr. Miller: Haha, fantastic. With that book, you can trace the natural evolution of crystals.

You: I read it briefly on my way back, and I have some questions about the crystal classifications...

You: Do you mind explaining the classifications to me, using the crystals in the exhibition as examples?

Dr. Miller: Of course, Miss [Player].

Dr. Miller: I'll use the crystals beside me as examples.

You: Sure!
