Luke "Radiant Sunlight"/Rewards

Story Summary

This story takes place in Year 1. Luke is not yet in a relationship with the MC.

Three days prior to the card story, Luke and the Main Character go through the MC's yearbooks and graduation photos. Recognizing Luke's sadness over their their lost eight years, the MC invites Luke out for a surprise outing she's arranged for the present-day evening.

The MC reveals her plans for the evening: belated graduation photos, since Luke didn't get to have them taken while away on his "secret project." After putting him through numerous poses and roleplay characters, the two take high school photos as well. A client interrupts at the door of the antique shop.

The client, an elderly man, requests repair and restoration of a damaged old photo album. Luke takes the job, and the MC offers to help him. Over eight hours later, the photo restoration is complete.

Luke, believing the memories in the photo album are a source of pain for his client, considers what to do with the restored album; the MC convinces him the memories are important and there must be more they can do to help. The two visit the amusement park to take more photos for the restoration effort. A fireworks show begins, and Luke surprises the MC with tickets to ride in a pumpkin carriage in the park's parade.

Under the park's fireworks, Luke and the MC share stories of drawing portraits of each other in the sand lit by sparklers on their graduation days. The two recreate the portraits and call it their belated graduation photo.

Remarking that the amusement park trip is like time travel, the MC has the idea to composite new photos, adding the client's late wife to missed moments in order to create a source of happy memories. The client leaves, happy, and the MC presents Luke with a yearbook made from the weekend's photos.

Text Message script

You: Are you busy? You didn't pick up when I called earlier.

Luke: Sorry! I'm making a music box and wasn't looking at my phone.

By yourself? That's amazing!

You: You're making a music box? That's amazing!

Luke: I just felt that it'd be a waste if the "graduation" photos we took were kept away in an album.

Luke: I wanted to make something I can keep around and frame the photo. That way, I can see it every day.

Why do you want to make a music box?

You: Why are you making a music box of all of a sudden? Learning something new again?

Luke: Yea, I'm making a music box with a picture frame on it.

Luke: So that I can frame the pictures we took in it.

Luke: But, I've only just started on the stand and haven't gotten to the picture frame yet.

Luke: I need your input on this. What material do you think would be good for the frame?

Wood

You: How about dark colored wood? It seems to match the style of your antique store.

Luke: Haha, that sounds good!

Metal

You: Stainless steel or other metals. It feels more durable.

Luke: Yea, metal doesn't break easily.

Luke: Hey, is there a picture that you are especially fond of?

Luke: You can pick six in total.

The one with the sparklers

You: The one with the sparklers on the beach is a must!

You: I don't know which other ones to pick...

Luke: Alright, let's just use that photo for now then.

Luke: We'll pick the rest of the photos after I'm done the music box!

They're all pretty nice

You: I like them all, it's really hard to choose...

You: It's better if you choose.

Luke: Wait! Don't just leave it all to me!

Luke: How about this? We can pick out the photos together once I'm done with the music box!

It's a promise!

You: Ok, we have a deal then!

Luke: It's a deal.

We'll see

You: We'll come back to it. You never know when work might pop up.

Luke: That's ok. I'll get the photos ready first. You can pick from them whenever you want.

Luke: I'm looking forward to the day we pick out these photos together.

Luke: I think... I'm the happiest when I'm with you.

Text Message		Luke: Childhood Memories (After Story 6)

Luke: I was looking at photos us of when we were young.

Luke: You wrapped the sheets around yourself and pretended it was a skirt!

I miss it

You: Haha, the good old times.

You: That was when we were playing house, right?

Luke: Yea, you even wanted me to wear it!

Luke: I wouldn't do it even if my life depended on it...

It's in the past

You: Don't say another word!

You: That's all dark history...

Luke: I thought it was pretty cute!

Luke: Besides, everyone was a little out there when they were young.

Luke: I remember we were even pretending to be anime characters.

Luke: There's a retro anime expo going on. Wanna go?

Let's go together

You: Really?!

You: Perfect. Let's go.

Luke: Let me get the tickets then.

Luke: We'll go on the weekends when you're done with work.

Work has been crazy lately

You: I do... but I have a lot of work...

You: I've got another difficult case on my hands.

Luke: There's no rush. The expo will be here for two months.

Luke: We can go whenever you're free.

Luke: I heard that they have character costumes there that you can wear and take pictures in.

Luke: You won't have to use bed sheets this time!

We have to do this together

You: No, no, we have to do this together.

Luke: I knew you'd say that. Guess I don't have a choice.

Pass

You: Ehh... I'll pass. That's a little embarrassing.

Luke: If you don't like it, then we can just go around taking photos.

Luke: We can pose just like we did in those old photos.

Luke: I remember how every single photo looks like.

Luke: You know, all these years apart, and I still find myself looking at our photos from before.

I look at them often

You: I do too.

You: Your smile encourages me when I'm having a rough time.

Luke: Too bad I'm not by your side.

Luke: But, I will be from now on, I won't let you face hardships alone again.

I want to, but I don't dare to

You: I want to... But, I don't dare to...

You: Looking at those photos makes me feel even more lonely...

Luke: I'm sorry...

Luke: I won't suddenly disappear again.

Luke: And I won't ever let you feel lonely again.
