The lucrative spread of rewards described here may lead a long-term player to wonder whether it's worthwhile to step away from the game from time to time to take advantage of the Returner Program, so it's worth taking some space to compare the Returner Program to continuous play to help players make this decision.

The main draws in the revamped returner program are the chance to obtain several past limited cards, including the Love in the Air Event MR cards and the Year 1 limited SSRs. However, it should be noted that the returner program now requires significantly more time to activate -- 45 days as opposed to the previous 15 days -- and that all limited card rewards require spending S-Chips or real money to obtain. It's also worth noting that we will likely see future reruns of these items for all players. While we can't guarantee global servers will get the same events as others did, no card has been left unattainable forever in CN/TW servers.
Returners
If a player makes maximum use of the returner program, the free rewards come to a total of:

In the meantime, during the 45 days a player waits offline in order to trigger the program, it's extremely likely that 1-2 major events with their own limited cards, as well as multiple minor events with badges, namecards, and other permanently missable rewards.
* S-Chip x920
* Tears of Themis x1
* Energy Drink Basic Pack x15
* Stellin x455,000
* 1,965,000 EXP worth of card EXP items (Oracle of Justice III x220, Oracle of Justice IV x65)
* Chip II x110 (Includes Logic Chip II, Empathy Chip II, Intuition Chip II, Selection Chip II)
* Chip III x40 (Includes Logic Chip III, Empathy Chip III, Intuition Chip III, Selection Chip III)
* Impression II x60 (Includes Logic Impression II, Empathy Impression II, Intuition Impression II)
* Impression III x30 (Includes Logic Impression III, Empathy Impression III, Intuition Impression III)
* Friendship Badge x10,000
* Home Deco Voucher x500
* Selection Star SR x1

However, it should be noted that the returner tasks require the player to draw 10 visions, meaning the total S-Chip income is negative 700 S-Chips; while this is not a problem if a player wishes to draw from the current banners, the player will lose out on 300 S-Chips (200 for finishing all 44 tasks, 100 for the visions task itself) should the choice be made to save instead.
Continuing Players
To compare, a free-to-play player who makes maximum use of daily and weekly tasks for the 14 days offline that would have been required to trigger the Returner Program will receive task rewards totaling:
* S-Chip x620 for cumulative task rewards
* Energy Drink Basic Pack x30
* Stellin x170,000
* 1,752,000 EXP worth of Oracles of Justice (Oracle of Justice III x140, Oracle of Justice IV x16)
* Home Deco Voucher x840
Plus rewards for the gameplay required to complete the daily and weekly tasks:
* Up to S-Chip x800 for two weeks' Temple of Trials
* Up to Stellin x280,000 for 28x Business Consult V
* Up to 1,680,000 EXP worth of Oracles of Justice (Oracle of Justice II x224, Oracle of Justice III x112, Oracle of Justice IV x56) for 28x Operational Assessment V
* 14x Work Permit to boost either of the above as the player wishes
* At least 42 Anomaly Levels' rewards
* At least 70 Fieldwork Cases' and 10 Fieldwork Lawsuits' rewards
* 14 days' Friendship Badges; at the Level 1 maximum of 50 friends, a player could earn Friendship Badge x21,000
Conclusion
While we should embrace the Returner Program and the returning attorneys who make use of it, the rewards only help to close the gap between those who take a break and those who play continuously, and it's unlikely to be worthwhile to intentionally take breaks to trigger the Returner Program.
