| Nosta's map is a hexagonal grid consisting of several stage types: primarily these are '''Story Stages''' and '''Exploration Stages'''. Each tile costs some amount of supplies to unlock (listed below); tiles which cross "Border Checkpoints" nearly always unlock in pairs, and the cost needs only be paid once for the pair (for example, unlocking [[Lost Gold Story 01-07]] also unlocks [[Lost Gold Explore Nosta Forest VII|Explore Nosta Forest VII]] for "free").

| Since the player starts with 500 of each tile unlock resource, it's possible to unlock all Beach stages immediately; while the player will be short on {{Item icon|Lumber}} for the final tile, the game will use this to introduce the Work Order supply system. Note that this tutorial requires completion of previous beach stages -- if it does not appear, go back and complete previous stages. Stories may need to be read in full, and exploration stages may need to be exited properly via the exit tile.
