|summary=Marius gathers Vyn and the Main Character at NXX HQ, asking them to take over investigation of a case that has been flagged as important to the investigation by the Big Data Lab. Marius explains that the victim, Letha Graye, is around the same age as Gerard Boone and passed away of pesticide poisoning the night before. The MC asks about Letha's parents; Marius believes her mother to be Mavis Sutcliffe, who has been missing for some time, and adds that her father disappeared the night of the murder, but he notes that the parents' names may be fake. Police attention seems to focus on the live-in nanny due to a dropped hearing aid in Letha's room. Vyn and the MC leave to begin their investigation.

At the Pax Group, Vincent Kim asks whether Marius trusts Vyn to investigate this case. Marius says he's always been suspicious of Vyn and asked him to investigate this case to give him a chance to prove himself.

At a temporary shelter, Vyn and the MC meet the live-in nanny, Jill Meadows. The MC notes her condition is poor and her employment as a nanny doesn't make sense. An impatient caregiver scolds Jill, and Vyn steps in to ask to speak to her without the caregiver present.
