Harry was told by the family doctor, Dr. Denard, that Gordon planned to leave everything in the Grant Estate to Joanne. However, Gordon planned on donating everything to his company, [[Moonriver Pharmaceutical Laboratories]]. Gordon also donated Mrs. Grant's assets to his company. However, he did not have control over Mrs. Grant's properties. Mrs. Grant heavily invested in their pharmacy chain and owned most of the shares. Gordon only had management rights while Harry was the one who would inherit these assets. So, Gordon bribed the property custodians, sold his late wife's paintings and antiques, and forged documents to steal the pharmacy shares under Harry's name.<ref name=": 0"/>
